Tschida Brothers Plumbing Introduce
For residents and commercial properties in the Saint Paul and greater Twin Cities metropolitan area, addressing plumbing and heating concerns is a critical part of home and business maintenance, especially given the range of temperatures experienced in Minnesota. When a need arises for professional plumbing or heating services, local residents often turn to experienced contractors within their community. Tschida Brothers Plumbing, located in St. Paul, has been a known name in the local industry, offering services that span both routine maintenance and more extensive installations and repairs.
This long-standing local business operates as a licensed plumbing contractor in the Twin Cities. With a history of serving the area dating back to its establishment in 1969, Tschida Brothers Plumbing has accumulated many years of experience in dealing with the unique plumbing and heating challenges that older and newer Minnesota homes and commercial buildings present. They offer a range of services designed to keep vital water and heating systems running smoothly for homeowners and businesses alike, aiming to provide solutions for everything from minor fixes to significant system replacements.
The company positions itself as a dual-service provider, capable of handling both common plumbing issues and specific heating contracting needs, which is a valuable combination for property owners preparing for the often-harsh Minnesota winters. However, prospective customers should be aware that, as with many service providers, the company has received a mix of customer feedback over the years. Some reviews praise their quality work and responsiveness, particularly on remodels or complex issues in older homes, while other, more recent, feedback raises concerns about scheduling, communication, and pricing, even alleging no-shows for scheduled emergency appointments and a lack of follow-up from management. It is important to consider all available reviews and current information before booking service.
The company holds various business and professional licenses through the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, including plumber and master business licenses, which indicates a level of compliance with state regulations for skilled trades work. Their service area is known to cover a significant portion of the east metro and surrounding regions.
Choosing a service provider involves weighing factors such as experience, the breadth of services, and customer reputation. While Tschida Brothers Plumbing has a deep history in the St. Paul community and a comprehensive service offering, recent public feedback suggests that customers should seek clear communication, written estimates, and firm scheduling commitments when engaging with the company to ensure a satisfactory service experience.
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry also shows records of licensing for Tschida Bros Plumbing, Inc., providing professional licensing for their plumbing services, which is a foundational requirement for any reputable trade contractor operating within the state.
Tschida Brothers Plumbing is based in the heart of Saint Paul, making them geographically accessible to a large portion of the Twin Cities metro area. Their primary business address is conveniently located in Ramsey County, which allows them to efficiently dispatch technicians to nearby clients in the surrounding counties. For local Minnesotans, this central location in the capitol city provides a reference point for a local, community-focused service.
The company has officially served a wide area around the Twin Cities, demonstrating their reach beyond just St. Paul proper. This extensive service range helps ensure that residents across the greater metropolitan landscape have access to their services.
The stated counties served by Tschida Brothers Plumbing include:
- Anoka County
- Dakota County
- Hennepin County
- Ramsey County
- Washington County
This wide coverage is a key advantage for residents who live outside the core of St. Paul but still within the metro region, from the northern suburbs of Anoka County to the southern reaches of Dakota County and the eastern communities of Washington County.
Tschida Brothers Plumbing provides a comprehensive array of services as both a plumber and heating contractor. Their service offerings cover both emergency and routine maintenance, installation, and repair work for residential and commercial customers throughout their service area. Based on available data, the core services include the following:
- Faucet Installation and Replacement
- Toilet Installation and Replacement
- Plumbing Pipe Repair and Replacement
- Drain Cleaning and Unclogging
- Water Heater Installation and Repair
- Kitchen and Bath Remodeling Plumbing
- Heating and Air Conditioning Services
- Water Filtration and Softening Systems
- Frozen Pipe Thawing (a necessity during severe Minnesota winters)
- General Plumbing Repair Services
It is worth noting that a service call can encompass a variety of tasks, from fixing minor leaks to installing new fixtures, and the company has historically provided same-day service for certain emergencies like water heater replacement, which is critical for maintaining comfort during the colder months.
Several distinct features and operational details characterize the service provided by Tschida Brothers Plumbing:
- Long-Standing Local Experience: The business was established in 1969 and boasts a significant history of service in the Saint Paul area, giving them considerable experience with the plumbing and heating systems specific to Twin Cities properties, including older, historic homes.
- Dual Specialty: They operate as both a dedicated plumber and a heating contractor, offering a valuable combined service to address both water and climate control systems.
- Repair and Installation Services: The company focuses on a blend of both repair services for existing systems and new installations for remodels or replacements.

For Minnesota homeowners and property managers, the decision to choose a plumbing and heating contractor often comes down to a few key factors: longevity, breadth of services, and the ability to handle local infrastructure issues. Tschida Brothers Plumbing has a history dating back to 1969, which translates into decades of on-the-ground experience navigating the Twin Cities' plumbing and heating infrastructure, a significant asset particularly when dealing with the intricacies of older or historic Saint Paul properties. Their experience is said to be particularly well-suited for older homes with "weirdness" that requires careful and experienced attention.
Furthermore, their dual role as both a plumber and a heating contractor offers a convenient, all-in-one solution for two of a property's most critical systems. This is especially advantageous in a climate like Minnesota's, where heating issues are just as paramount as water issues. The ability to handle diverse projects, from basic faucet installation and toilet replacement to more complex drain cleaning and water heater work, positions them as a versatile local resource.
However, it is crucial for Minnesotans selecting any contractor to conduct due diligence, especially given documented instances of significant customer dissatisfaction concerning service communication, scheduling reliability, and pricing transparency. While past positive experiences highlight their quality of work on-site and friendliness, recent accounts describe a severe lack of communication, repeated no-shows for scheduled appointments, and difficulty reaching management for follow-up. Potential customers are advised to request a written estimate and clear communication protocols upfront to mitigate potential scheduling or billing issues, and to confirm the current operational status and service commitment before agreeing to any work.
The choice to hire Tschida Brothers Plumbing should be an informed one, balancing their deep history and comprehensive services with the reported inconsistencies in customer service and reliability. For complex plumbing or heating issues in the Twin Cities, their technical expertise may be valuable, but setting clear expectations for appointment times and costs is highly recommended.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1BEWARE!!!! We had an emergency at our clinic and needed our drain unclogged. They no -showed 5 different time slots they were scheduled with us. They never called me to let me know, I had to keep calling them to see what happened and where they were at. I also told them numerous times I can call someone else if you simply do not have the time but they kept promising they would be there. Finally the guy showed up, said it would be almost $1,000 to snake the drain which is absurd but felt like we didn’t have a choice at that point. The next day the drain was still clogged after running it and I have called them numerous times and management has promised to call me back three times and now…..4 days later still nothing from them. I will not be paying my bill and will have another reliable plumber come out today. This place is a scam.
July 01 · Alicia BodnerOf there was an option of zero stars that's what I would be picking. I called for their service on Thursday, the confirmed service for the next day (friday) between 9-11. The tech called me around 10 to say they couldn't get out until 3. Then they didn't show up until 5 and didn't do anything! Told me they'd fix the issue around 10 Saturday morning. Called them back for an update at 12 and was told the tech would be there around 3. Got no response so I asked for an update and they just texted me back saying they couldn't get it and left it as is. Mind you this is a apartment complex with over 40 people in it. So needless to say these poor people sat without the usage of their toilets and the water has no been off for two days to avoid further flooding and damages. You guys ABSOLUTELY SUCK... Very unprofessional and their communication skills are horrible. Don't fall for their scams and run around. Reporting all this to the BBB and the Attorney General.
June 22 · Justin LinderJim & Rob did a wonderful job installing a new sink & dishwasher for me. They were very knowledgeable and professional. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Highly recommend them for any plumbing needs!
February 22 · Samantha BuerkleHired to replace an outdoor faucet. Thought we'd done our homework. Checked reviews, and confirmed Tschida was a licensed plumbing company. Estimate $150 to $175 (unfortunately not written), stating the higher amount was if the water line needed to be cut (which it wasn't). Took him about 20 minutes and charged $185. He never turned the water back on to check the faucet for leaks, so we're glad it hasn't, but it's not the anti-siphon type required for code in St. Paul. It doesn't sit flush with the siding and it turns hard. Tschida has not returned my husband's call to install a faucet to code, so will pursue elsewhere. I would avoid this company but, if you do go with them, make sure you get a written estimate, know what your city's code standards are, and confirm they intend to comply with these on your job.
June 18 · Patricia ArnesonTravis and Eric from Tschida replaced our water heater and upgraded our pipes to improve water pressure. We were very happy with their work and the overall process. They take the time to educate you on your options and answer questions. Aside from being knowledgeable they are really nice guys, very easy to work with!
