When choosing a service provider in the Twin Cities, homeowners and businesses weigh several factors: reliability, speed of service, technical expertise, and price transparency. Cities1 positions itself as a comprehensive comfort provider, offering a full suite of services that cover the entirety of a property’s plumbing and climate control needs. The convenience of a single contractor for heating, cooling, and plumbing can simplify maintenance and emergency response, saving time and effort for local property owners. For example, a customer who experienced an emergency midnight furnace outage in the middle of a Minnesota January praised the company for being "fast, efficient, and interested in making sure that I am left with a working furnace," indicating a strong capability for handling critical cold-weather emergencies. This ability to respond promptly, especially when temperatures plummet, is an invaluable asset in this climate.
However, potential customers should be aware of all facets of customer feedback when making their decision. While some reviews praise the quality of work and the technical skills of the plumbers and support staff, other customers have expressed concerns regarding pricing, specifically noting high material markups and hourly labor rates that they felt were significantly higher than local averages, as well as a lack of upfront communication about these charges. One review mentioned paying $500 for a sink and drain that was priced at $278, resulting in a significantly higher-than-expected total cost, and also stated that they do not offer a Veteran's discount. Prospective clients are therefore encouraged to discuss all costs—including labor rates, material markups, and final quotes—in detail before approving any work. This due diligence is key to ensuring that the excellent quality of the work aligns with the customer's budget expectations. Choosing Cities1 is choosing a locally experienced team capable of managing complex residential and commercial mechanical systems, backed by industry certifications like their Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer status, but a clear, upfront discussion about billing practices is a recommended step to ensure a positive service experience.

Cities1Plumbing, Heating & Air conditioning Reviews
I'd give Five stars for the plumbers and the support staff ! The work is amazing but we were way over charged. When we questioned the actual prices, after researching prices , the discrepancies on the items he "purchased" we got a hostile early morning call from the owner. Where we were told that he charges a 30% up charge on sink accessories as a "Warranty". However The Sink and drain were 278 . We paid 500 hundred that's a 100% price gouge not a 30% up charge. They charged 250 dollars an hour for labor average wage in Minnesota for a plumber is 50. An hour maximum we paid four times that amount. We were never informed of any up 100% price gouge in the initial consultation. The surprise doubled price of the sink and drain kit came with the receipt. I understand paying people for their services. I don't understand charging way more than you deserve just because you want to make money. 1200 for two hours of work is unjustifiable. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. That's my opinion. *Also They do not offer a Veteran's discount.*
April 01 · The best is yet to comeI've now used Cities1 for plumbing and heating, and they are incredible at both. Fast, efficient, and interested in making sure that I am left with a working furnace: even when I called at midnight when my heat went out in the middle of January! Will definitely use them and I recommend them to everyone.
January 24 · Wendy GormanUnfortunately, I cannot write an accurate review because I never was able to ever hear back from Jarred, one of the owners/techs. I called starting Nov 22, again Nov 29 *(recognizing there was a Holiday), again, December 3, December 10 and 17!! The ladies at reception Emily and Megan are delightful. But the fact I could never get a quote/estimate is poor business practice.
December 17 · Emily KrouseI had a wonderful experience with Cities 1 Plumbing. I submitted a request via email Sunday night and was contact Monday morning by Megan. She was delightful to speak to and was even able to schedule a same day toilet install. A few hours later Don showed up at my door and fixed my toilet issue within an hour. I had a functioning toilet in under 12 hours from the initial point of contact. I am super impressed and will be recommending them to family and friends.
October 24 · John LCities 1 has taken care of the boiler at our home and several of the homes of our clients. They are not only professional and extremely knowlegeable about the intricate details of boiler heating systems, they go the extra mile. I am a REALTOR, and I had a client out-of-town (and cell phone range) and we needed an emergency safety check at the client's house after a home inspector (who didn't know complicated boilers but sure could comment on them) created inspection issues. Avery, the owner's son, came running to the rescue. I learned more from Avery in an hour about the heating system in the home than I could have ever figured out on my own or from techs from other companies. He wrote up the service details on the invoice before he left the driveway. Whether you have a basic boiler or a complicated one, old or new - Cities 1 knows boilers. They have consistently fixed things other companies said were beyond repair, and they are fearless when it comes to the servicing of a system. Their front office staff are excellent and responsive as well, and their billing/invoicing system is efficient and organized for your record keeping. Residential or commercial - this is the company for boilers.
