February 19 · Lisa StinnettMcRae's Plumbing is the best. Their crews are excellent. They are friendly, conscientious, and thorough. The crew cleaned up after themselves and careful about their work. I highly recommend them.
March 18 · Debra WelshI want to give a big shout out to McRae Plumbing & Excavating and promote their business as they really stood out among the competition in service and price! I had many quotes and estimates for putting in a new gas water heater. The range was from $1,700-3,400. They gave me the best price and were quick to get to work the next day after the estimate. The men were very friendly and got the job done quickly! Really appreciate it when you are given a good honest deal and from a local owned business ! Satisfied customer 👍🏻
February 25 · JI left two stars because my first experience with McRae Plumbing was great. My second (and would have been third)-not so great at all. I had a service call for a clogged grinder pump. The technician cleared the debris/clog and discovered the electrical panel had burned up so advised me I needed to buy a new electrical board and have an electrician install it. I experienced sticker shock from this service call, especially after my previous experience. Within 3 days of him unclogging my pump I had the new electrical panel replaced.A few days later I had concerns and called to ask if I might have the technician call me so I could ask him a few questions so as to hopefully avoid another very costly service call (if it was unnecessary) and also try to prevent an emergency plumbing situation. I described my issues to the nice young woman in the office who relayed my concerns to the technician, and the young woman called me back and said he told her I probably needed a new pump.Nearly two weeks ago, on a Wednesday, I called and requested a service call as I was experiencing some issues. I was told a technician would call before coming. On Friday I called back and asked if I was scheduled. Again I was told yes, the technician would be in touch. Friday afternoon a technician was sent out, but he didn’t know anything about grinder pumps so he took the lid off my pump and left it loose, presumably so the waste could flow out. I was promised that the technician who did know about grinder pumps would be at my house the next day. That has now been 9 days ago and I have never heard a word from the technician or the company. Obviously I called another plumber, but not soon enough before I had sewage backed up into my house. (That emergency I was trying to avoid.)I understand everyone is busy and short staffed, but if they had just told me two weeks ago that they couldn’t or wouldn’t do my job, I would have called someone else much sooner. Very disappointed as I very much enjoy using small local community-based business.
November 22 · Mary HarrisWhen a plumber FINALLY arrived at my house, it took him about 15 minutes to clean out a Kitchen Drain ( easily accessible in the cellar ) and sent me a bill for $425. When I complained to the owner and referred to poor reviews that I hadn't read, he said nobody pays any attention to those. I sent him a $300 check... he cashed it... and that's what can happen if you don't read the reviews. Overall, a poor excuse for plumbing company.
