Calumet City Plumbing Introduce
For over fifty years, Calumet City Plumbing Company, Inc. has been a cornerstone for reliable, comprehensive plumbing and utility services across both the Illinois and Indiana regions. Founded in 1967 as a service and repair contractor, the company has since matured into a highly capable firm renowned for handling everything from routine residential repairs to large-scale, intricate commercial and municipal utility projects. Calumet City Plumbing (CCP) has successfully built a reputation on a foundation of competence, a dedication to modern technology, and a commitment to customer satisfaction for both the public and private sectors.
The firm is particularly noted in the Illinois and Indiana markets for its expertise in complex underground work, including sewer and water main replacement and repair, which often requires a level of specialized equipment and technical skill beyond what many standard plumbing contractors possess. With decades of continuous growth and an expanded service offering, CCP represents a go-to solution for utilities, new construction, alterations, and emergency repairs across industrial, commercial, and municipal segments, ensuring residents and businesses in Illinois and its neighboring state have access to expert service for their most critical infrastructure needs.
The company's history of service runs deep, with significant experience in vital municipal contracts, such as replacing over 75,000 water meters for numerous municipalities in Illinois and Indiana since 1998. This long track record not only speaks to their stability and expertise but also highlights their role in maintaining and upgrading essential public infrastructure. When searching for a professional plumbing contractor who can deliver a full spectrum of services—from a leaky faucet fix to the installation of major utility systems—Calumet City Plumbing offers a single, experienced solution.
One aspect that truly sets Calumet City Plumbing apart is their proficiency in trenchless technology. While many traditional plumbing companies rely solely on open-cut excavation, which can be massively disruptive and costly for property owners, CCP has invested in advanced methods like Directional Drilling. As one customer testimonial vividly illustrates, this specialized knowledge is crucial for solving long-standing, complex sewer and water line issues that other contractors couldn't even accurately diagnose, let alone solve without recommending unnecessary, destructive, and expensive work. Their ability to precisely locate and address problems, even dealing with old, complex systems or broken tools left by previous work, provides immense value and peace of mind to homeowners and municipal clients alike. This commitment to modern, less invasive repair and installation techniques positions them as a leader in the regional utility space.
Beyond their technical capability, Calumet City Plumbing has worked diligently to ensure they are fully compliant and prepared to operate within the state of Illinois and beyond. The company is confirmed to be a licensed and bonded plumbing contractor, a necessary standard for working on major projects and public infrastructure in Illinois. Furthermore, they are specifically licensed and bonded throughout both Illinois and Indiana. The firm holds specific certifications, including IDOT (Illinois Department of Transportation) and CDOT (Chicago Department of Transportation) certification, which is necessary for working on public right-of-ways. Their City of Chicago Plumbing and Drainlayer licenses are an additional indicator of their broad operational authority, allowing them to engage in both private property and public way work in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. This extensive licensing portfolio confirms their commitment to professional standards and legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions and types of projects.
CCP's readiness for emergency situations is also a key benefit for Illinois residents. They recognize the essential nature of their services and offer 24-hour emergency repairs. This is particularly important in the Midwest, where weather can cause sudden and severe water main breaks or sewer backups. Their around-the-clock availability, coupled with a complete line of equipment and a dedicated labor force, means they can be deployed immediately to address urgent plumbing, utility, commercial, or municipal emergencies, minimizing damage and disruption for their clients.
Their wide array of service offerings demonstrates a holistic approach to plumbing and utility contracting, capable of addressing simple household issues as well as complex subterranean infrastructure demands. This full-service capability ensures that whether a homeowner needs a quick faucet fix or a municipality requires a new water main, Calumet City Plumbing has the specialized personnel and equipment on hand to complete the job correctly and efficiently.
Calumet City Plumbing is headquartered in the South Suburbs of Chicago, conveniently located to service the greater Chicagoland area, Southern Cook County, and Northwest Indiana. This strategic location allows them to promptly dispatch crews and equipment to their service area, which spans Illinois and Indiana, as evidenced by their 24-hour emergency service number, which is designated for both IL and IN clients. Their primary physical office is easily accessible for administrative and client needs.

Calumet City Plumbing Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The city of Joliet has a contract with this company to install new digital water meters. The gentlemen didn’t seem so happy for what? I don’t know. I asked a few questions and he kind of blew me off. So after the gentleman completed the digital water meter install in the basement. The signal box on the side of the house that the city gets its reading from. I asked how does it work. The gentleman looked at me with disgust and explained very distasteful. At this point I was aggravated. My intentions now in mind were “sir just finish and leave”. This has to be my first negative review I’ve ever left. It takes alot to get under my skin and this was it.
May 08 · Mr. C Alford SrHave a serious sewer or water line issue? These are the guys. They are the best! They were not daunted by an issue of long standing regarding a broken sewer pipe that was causing issues well beyond unpleasant.Other companies did not seem to know how to solve the issue without massive unnecessary work. They couldn’t even find where the breaks in the pipe were. All they did was tell us how long the run is, like I didn’t know that, how it’s an old pipe, also not news, and that they couldn’t really give a quote. Calumet City came out, identified two breaks and their exact locations within an hour. Other companies couldn’t even figure out how to scope the line, and did not understand that the line had two clean outs. They didn’t know what that was in the backyard, and said it would have to go. It didn’t and it is an integral component to the system. It’s the second clean out for an unusually long run. And they believed me when I said there was a broken rodder in the line, and they identified that it was the cause of the breaks in the first place. And that had to have happened a long time ago. We’ll never know just who did the damage. They prepared a very fair quote in a very timely fashion that included all aspects of the work. This included the entire job, like new concrete, and even the garage door weather strip, so everything is as it was. Other companies only really offered recommendations for most of the work. Theseother companies also wanted open-ended contracts, so they could charge whatever they wanted. Do people really not understand what could result by signing a contract like that?It was well worth living with an issue until we found a company, the right company, that knows about old, and new, sewer and water lines. So glad we did wait, even if it was unpleasant. The team leader and team were terrific. They are all knowledgeable, arrive on time, friendly, have a sense of humor while doing pretty unpleasant work. And they took the time to explain what was going on before, during, and after.Understand, there are many companies that will tell you issues like an old broken sewer line will cost tens of thousands, maybe more. And from what was actually done that solved this long standing problem, those companies would not only have cost me well over treble the cost, but would have caused a whole lot of damage, and maybe the building. They said they’d need to tear out part of a fence, tear up a large established garden, and tear up the concrete floor of a large garage. One company wanted to completely reroute the entire line and tear up the basement, the long driveway and the newly done street and new sewer and water lines. They didn’t even know where to get an excavator of the proper size. And all they need to do was look from that second clean out they didn’t understand to find the problem. They wouldn’t do that when I asked them to. They gave excuses as to why they couldn’t.Thank you Calumet City! I am so glad that the city I live in uses your company to service the city’s water and sewer lines, and sent you guys to fix an issue they had with our water feed. And though the city didn’t tell me you were coming, your team looked to find me until they found the owner, before they started. With two large buildings, that took some looking. I am so glad the guys did. What a pleasure working with you was. And no “Hey Little Girl, what’s on your little mind.” Thank you for the respect and honesty.

January 08 · Dave LaughlinBefore I start my review I just want to state that I have used this company several times in the past. They do amazing work! Based on this I called recently to get work done at a different residence. I originally called on 10/28/22 at 11:30am to receive an estimate on work that I need done at my current residence. I left a voicemail for Chris. Well today is 10/31/22 at 2:54pm. I called again since I never received a call back. When I asked to speak to Chris, she says this is she. When I asked about the estimate that I wanted she explained that no estimate is given for the type of work that I need done (to have a faucet replaced on a utility tub). My request would have to go through the service dept. Ok I can understand that. I'm guessing this is why she failed to even call me back. Instead of her explaining the service charges on her own, I had to probe & ask her a million questions to determine if I want to schedule an appt. I want to say this. Her customer service is horrible! Every time I have to call this company I'm always hoping that someone else will answer the phone. She makes the customer feel like we are a bother & that she could care less about us wanting your service. Her demeanor & attitude is going to force customers to want to do business elsewhere. This is not my 1st time having to deal with her nonchalant energy. This is just my 1st time finally posting a review about it. Calumet City Plumbing can you please provide Chris with the necessary people skills & training that she needs so that she does not run any of your customers away? I'm sure that you all can hire someone else who would LOVE to have her job & would do a much better job. She is rude as hell & I'm sick of her!
