★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have used Aleck Plumbing for a number of years. I have been very pleased with their high quality work and responsiveness. The technicians are both very knowledgeable and personable. Aleck charges fair market value fees.
September 27 · Michael SylvesterI recently had a new water heater installed by Aleck Plumbing. The installation is complete as it's a standard job any plumber in the phonebook should be able to do.I'm giving them a 1 star review for their lack of professionalism, attention to detail, and poor customer service.During the installation the process set off the smoke detector; I offered to remove the battery but the plumber indicated it wasn't a problem as it was a temporary issue.Later that day after the installation was complete I discovered that the plumber took the smoke detector down and placed it in the laundry room to which the door was closed and he should not have entered. This plumber should have 1) ask to remove the smoke detector before taking it down, 2) place it any available space rather than hide it in a closed off room, and 3) put the detector back.I called Aleck to inform them of their employee's conduct and was told a supervisor would be notified and I would receive a call back. It is now two days later and I haven't heard anything. My recommendation to anyone for these standard appliance installs would be to avoid Aleck and go with a place like ABT which I have done in the past and should have done this time. Their prices are better and their customer service above and beyond anything you would ever receive from Aleck.
September 18 · Michael UToday I had Aleck Plumbing come out for my annual backflow testing at my wife’s and I business. Normally, I meet the plumber onsite, but I couldn’t today. The technician sent, Dan Redican, was extremely unprofessional. Our RPZ devices are located in the utility closet with the mop basin and laundry tub—a space we use all day. My wife had just run a load of laundry before Dan arrived, and there were no leaks. About 15 minutes after he started, the hot water RPZ was running like a faucet. He told my wife it was already leaking, which was not true.As a licensed plumber with 30 years in the trade and 17 years as a contractor, I know the difference. When I spoke with him on the phone, I told him not to worry about fixing anything because I’m licensed and would handle it myself. He then had the nerve to ask my wife if I was really licensed—as if I would lie about that. To make matters worse, he told her our devices were “cheap” and that we should buy a Watts. That is unprofessional and inappropriate.I want to be clear: my negative experience is solely with Dan Redican, not with Aleck Plumbing as a company. In the past, Aleck has always been reliable in testing my devices, and I’ve never had an issue. Unfortunately, today’s service was unacceptable and reflects poorly only on this technician.
September 22 · Marcus DavisWe were told they could find our underground water pipe for $200. Team showed up, were not able to distinguish pipes, charged us $400 for nothing. Never found the water and dug a new hole by an electrical pipe and left. Very disappointing.
August 23 · Judy MitchellI recently had an appointment with Alec Plumbing to address a leak at my new house. While the plumber, Johnny, was professional and courteous, he spent two hours identifying the issue (a broken fridge filter) but was unable to resolve it. I was charged $405, despite the problem remaining unsolved. When I called to discuss my concerns, the service manager was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, refusing to offer any resolution or acknowledge my frustration. His condescending tone and lack of professionalism made the situation worse.I would like the owner to address this matter directly, as it is unacceptable to charge such a high fee for an incomplete service and treat customers in this manner.
