Fowler Sewer & Septic Services Introduce
For homeowners and businesses in Mount Vernon and across the Southern Illinois region, the proper function of sewer and septic systems is absolutely critical to the health and hygiene of any property. When a main sewer line fails or a septic system requires immediate attention, the services of a specialist are non-negotiable. Fowler Sewer & Septic Services is a local business focused on these specialized, often urgent, aspects of property maintenance and plumbing.
Fowler Sewer & Septic Services is classified primarily as a Plumber, but their core expertise, as their name suggests, lies in the intensive maintenance and repair of sewer and septic infrastructure. They are positioned as the go-to provider for essential underground and drainage issues, offering crucial Repair services to keep waste management systems operating smoothly. Dealing with these systems requires specific equipment and deep knowledge of both plumbing and waste disposal standards, and customers rely on Fowler to deliver professional and timely solutions for these often-unpleasant problems.
However, potential customers in Illinois should always exercise due diligence, as the field of sewer and septic work requires proper licensing, particularly when connecting to municipal lines. The Illinois Department of Public Health regulates plumbing and sewer line connections to protect public safety, making licensing an important consideration for any major work performed on a property's sewer connections.
Fowler Sewer & Septic Services is conveniently based in Mount Vernon, Illinois. This strategic location allows them to service a significant area within Southern Illinois, providing necessary, on-site expertise for both scheduled maintenance and unexpected emergencies related to septic and sewer lines.
- Address: 1215 S 26th St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864, USA
Their services are heavily focused on on-site operations, requiring their specialized equipment and trained personnel to travel to the customer's property. For homeowners and businesses in Mount Vernon, having a locally established service focused on these specific issues can often mean quicker response times for critical needs like septic backups or sewer clogs.
- Primary Phone: (618) 242-1074
- Mobile Contact: +1 618-242-1074
It is important to note the reliance on these phone numbers for contact. While one review attests to professional and timely service for septic clean-out, another reports a significant issue with communication and a lack of returned calls following a sewer line installation, which suggests a need for reliable contact follow-up.
Fowler Sewer & Septic Services concentrates its offerings on the often-challenging tasks associated with waste disposal systems. Their specialization in these areas makes them an essential call for properties in Mount Vernon that rely on these specific utilities.

- Septic Pump Station Repair.
- General Septic Services to ensure system longevity.

- Drain Cleaning for blockages and clogs.
- Sewer Line Installation and repair services for connections to municipal or septic systems.
- Specialized Sewer Repair.
- General Repair Services:

This distinct focus allows the company to invest in the specialized equipment and training necessary for underground sewer and septic work, which goes beyond the capabilities of many general residential plumbers.
The unique nature of Fowler Sewer & Septic Services allows for several key highlights, alongside a critical point of caution:
- Septic Specialization: Their name clearly indicates a core expertise in septic systems, which is essential for properties in rural or unsewered parts of Southern Illinois. One customer specifically praised the timely and professional manner in which their septic was cleaned out.
- Focused Repair Offering: By prioritizing Repair services, they are committed to restoring functionality to existing, stressed, or failing sewer and septic systems, rather than exclusively pushing for costly replacements.
- Expertise in Underground Infrastructure: Work involving sewer lines and septic tanks is complex and requires knowledge of excavation and municipal codes, positioning them as experts in essential, non-visible utility maintenance.
However, a critical caution is raised by customer feedback:
- Licensing and Communication Issues: A major customer concern arose following a sewer line installation, where the city reportedly stated the company was not licensed to hook into the main line, and subsequent attempts to contact the company for necessary repairs went unanswered. In Illinois, plumbing, sewer, and septic connections are strictly regulated by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), making verified licensing absolutely necessary for homeowners to ensure compliance and avoid liability. Customers should always verify current licensing before proceeding with any such project.
For scheduling septic clean-outs, drain cleaning, or any sewer service in the Mount Vernon, IL, area, please use the following contact information:
- Address: 1215 S 26th St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864, USA
- Primary Phone: (618) 242-1074
- Mobile Phone: +1 618-242-1074
Given the reported communication issues by a previous customer regarding follow-up and return calls, it is advisable for all potential clients to seek confirmation of scheduled appointments and ensure receipt of all necessary permits and licensing details in writing prior to the commencement of any major sewer or septic work.
Fowler Sewer & Septic Services is worth considering for routine, maintenance-based tasks such as septic tank cleaning and pumping, as indicated by a positive customer experience that highlights professionalism and timely service in this area. For homeowners in Southern Illinois who rely on private septic systems, this specialized focus is a definite advantage, as they possess the necessary equipment and experience for the job.
However, when considering major infrastructure projects, particularly sewer line installation or connection to a city main, users in Illinois must prioritize verified licensing and reliable post-installation support. The Illinois Plumbing License Law is strict for a reason: improper sewer work can lead to health hazards, costly property damage, and legal issues with the municipality. For major work, the utmost due diligence is recommended. This involves checking the company’s plumbing and contractor registration status with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) before any work begins.
Ultimately, the choice to hire Fowler Sewer & Septic Services should be weighed against the specific job requirement. For standard septic pumping, their specialized focus is a positive feature. For complex or critical sewer line installations, verifying their licensing and ensuring a clear, reliable line of communication is essential to protect your property and investment.

Fowler Sewer & Septic Services Reviews
I had a sewer line installed from the house to the street. At the time they seemed very perfessional about the whole job. 2 days later as I was doing work in the basement I found that the sewer was backing up into the basement. I have tried several times to contact them and they are not answering thier phones. I have left several messages and they are not returning our phone calls. I than spoke with the city and they told me they were not plumbers and did not have a license to be hooking anything to the main for the city. So, they have not only took the money and ran but they have also lied. THIS IS NOT THE PEOPLE YOU WANT DOING WORK ON YOUR HOME>
