The challenges of home plumbing in a climate like Minnesota's often go beyond simple clogs. When a Minnesotan homeowner faces a plumbing crisis or plans a system upgrade, the choice of plumber often comes down to a few core factors: the ability to handle the full scope of the job, the reliability of their emergency response, and their overall professional conduct. C Hansen Plumbing markets itself as a provider with a broad service capacity, capable of addressing the full lifecycle of a home's plumbing system. This includes everything from the most basic repair services—like unclogging a drain or replacing a worn-out component—to more complex projects that enhance a home’s utility, such as a full water heater replacement or the installation of an advanced water purification system.
The company explicitly highlights its 24-hour emergency service, which is a vital offering for residents in a climate prone to sudden, severe plumbing emergencies like frozen or burst pipes. For a homeowner facing a flooded basement at 2 AM, the promise of around-the-clock availability is a significant value proposition. They aim to provide peace of mind by suggesting that, even in the worst-case scenarios, a professional is available to help resolve the issue and mitigate further damage to the property.
A particular area of specialization that makes C Hansen Plumbing an option for local residents is their focus on water quality solutions. Minnesota water, particularly in suburban and rural areas, often necessitates the use of water softeners and filtration systems. By including the installation and maintenance of Soft Water Systems, Whole House Water Filters, and Water Conditioning & Purification services in their offerings, the company shows an understanding of the specific needs of the local water landscape. This specialization is a key factor for homeowners looking to protect their appliances, improve their drinking water quality, and manage the effects of hard water.
However, potential clients should note that public reviews for C Hansen Plumbing have raised serious concerns about pricing transparency, invoicing practices, project timelines, and the reliability of their 24-hour emergency response as advertised. For any major project, securing a clear, written contract, an itemized quote, and verifying licensing and insurance are standard best practices. While the advertised services—comprehensive repairs, specialized water treatment, and emergency availability—represent a high-value offering, consumers are strongly encouraged to communicate clearly with the company, document all agreements, and thoroughly vet the professional relationship before committing to work, especially large-scale or high-cost services. Comparing estimates from several highly-rated, licensed professionals is the best way to ensure fair pricing and a positive service experience in the Forest Lake, MN, community.

C Hansen Plumbing Reviews
(Posting this for my parents who hired this scammer) Hired Chad Hansen for internal plumbing work needed after our septic system failed. In a desperate situation, I signed a contract with Chad (still to this date have not seen this contract). From day 1 I had concerns with Chad in regard to his communication as well as the price of the job. We had several contractors/plumbers out on site who were appalled at his price. Chad just kept telling us "It is a big project with a lot of man hours" Not knowing anything about plumbing and needing the work done quickly, we trusted Chad and accepted the price. First, Chad demanded 50% down. Then later changed his mind and needed 75% down as it again "big project, lots of big tools and man hours". My daughter is in the construction industry and called the city to find out he pulled a permit for a valuation of $4k and he billed us $40k. We asked Chad for an invoice, he said that would be an extra $400 as he charges $200/hr and it would take him 2 hours to write out an itemized invoice for us. We continued with the work as it needed to get done. 2 weeks would go by where Chad & his guys would either not show up, or show up for 2 hours a day. The work became so delayed he tried to leave us with no running water for 4-5 days and he delayed the septic system work 1 week. It took a screaming match with our sewer company in order for him to do the right thing and at least get us a toilet. Our rough in inspections failed. Our basement flooded. We called Chad, no response for 3 days (it was the weekend). His trucks say he is a 24/7 service. We asked him on Monday at 12pm when he called us back from his No Caller ID number (should have been our first red flag), he said the office is only available M-F during regular business hours. Yet another misrepresentation. We have since fired Chad as we cannot trust him to do our work and have found out from many others truly how poor his company is as well as his character. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!

July 09 · Carlton ElkHorrible experience- paid an emergency price to be left without water. Even though I suggested and asked for options to be left with running water - I was told there were no options. My plumbing was completely running that night with another plumber.
