★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I hired Jeff for a major plumbing project at my home in Norridge. The project included: installing an ejector pump with two new area drains, supplying and installing all new copper hot/cold water lines (for kitchen, utility sink, water heater, laundry feeds), supplying and installing a new drain/overflow for the tub including a p-trap to new wye fitting at the main stack, fixing existing drains, excavating 25 feet of my rear yard to accommodate a new 4” PVC drain that terminates at a pop-up, descaling a cast iron sewer pipe; installing new Moen faucets in the kitchen and bathroom, as well as a posi-temp kit for the tub; and more. I spent almost two months speaking with 8-10 plumbers and getting quotes. The estimate process was extensive because many of the plumbers were suggesting different solutions - and it got incredibly confusing, and sometimes frustrating. When it comes to my home - I want people to do the kind of work they would do for their own home. I don’t want to cut corners. I don’t want to skip out on permits, or approve something that isn’t the best possible solution for the long term. Jeff earned the bid because he seemed to have the best understanding of what was needed to bring my home up to current codes - and to protect my home from future issues. Jeff was thorough and careful. He was able to smoothly manage the permit process, and be persistent with the Village about the required signatures and inspections to complete the project. I am also remote because I am taking care of my mom - communication is especially critical because I can’t see things as clearly when I’m stopping by the house a couple days a month vs. being there every day! Jeff provided photos; sent texts and emails, and called to keep everything moving - without sacrificing the quality of the work. Highest recommendation!
July 30 · scott huestonI live overseas and needed a gas line repaired in a property we own in Chicago. Trying to identify and contact a professional plumber was extremely difficult. After trying to deal with 5 plumbers who either didn't return my calls or said they would do the repair but didn't, I was referred to the Plumbing Dept. From my first phone call to them until the job was done, every person I spoke to was professional, friendly and responsive. They did what they said they would do WHEN they said it would be done - sounds like this isn't anything to rave about, but these days and after my experience with the other half-hearted plumbers, the Plumbing Dept's level of professionalism is notable. I am extremely grateful to them. And I would certainly use them again and recommend them to everyone. Contact them first - you won't need to contact anyone else!!!
August 21 · S DowningJeff has done several projects at my home over many years. He and his team provide prompt, friendly and reliable service. Always my first and only call when I need plumbing help!
July 08 · LindaGary replaced my toilet and they did an amazing job. They had to correct the wrong installation from the past plumber. Highly recommend
September 25 · A&A EquipmentOur condo association hired The Plumbing Department to address our kitchen stack causing a water back-up into one of the units. Communication from first contact through the day of the work being completed was excellent. The tech who came out did a very thorough job of cleaning out the pipes & doing a quick review to address another potential issue with our grease trap. When the grease trap began to cause further issues, the owner Jeff was quick to respond over the weekend & rearranged other jobs to get somebody out to our building first thing in the morning. Again, communication on this second job was excellent from start to finish. It's clear that Jeff & team take pride in their work & treat every job as if it's being done for a family member. I think we've found our go-to plumber for our association!
