Led by owner Jesse P. Pittman, the company offers more than just standard plumbing; it provides specialized services tailored to the unique needs of residents in McDowell County and beyond.
Pittman Plumbing is known for handling essential plumbing repairs with a high degree of precision. Their core expertise lies in addressing two of the most critical issues homeowners face: leaks and pipe integrity. Beyond these fundamental repair services, the company has demonstrated a capability for larger, more complex installations, such as upflush bathroom systems in basements, which require careful planning and meticulous attention to detail. This versatility in handling projects from simple repairs to full system installations makes them a valuable local resource.
The business operates with a small, dedicated team, prioritizing quality work, communication, and integrity. While primarily a plumber, the team’s service offerings extend into other practical areas important for maintaining homes in the mountainous region of Western North Carolina, providing a unique combination of services that reflect the practical needs of local property owners.
Pittman Plumbing is conveniently situated in Old Fort, North Carolina, making them a local and easily accessible option for service calls across the region. While the business focuses on core plumbing repairs, Pittman Plumbing provides a select, yet critical, range of services that go beyond simple fixture fixes, catering to specific needs in the WNC region. Their primary service types include Plumber, Snow Removal Service, and Water Testing Service. The plumbing-specific services encompass:
- Leak and Pipe Integrity: Expert Plumbing Leak Detection to accurately find the source of water issues, and thorough Plumbing Pipe Repair to restore the integrity of the home's water lines.
- Specialized Installations: Handling complex projects such as the installation of upflush bathroom systems in basements, which involves plumbing for fixtures like the toilet, shower, and sink in challenging locations.
- Water Quality and Testing: Offering a crucial Water Testing Service, which is essential for homeowners, particularly those relying on well water in the mountain communities, ensuring the safety and quality of their drinking water.
- Seasonal Property Maintenance: Providing Snow Removal Service, a highly valuable offering for local residents who need assistance managing winter weather and ensuring property accessibility in higher elevations.

This mix of services positions Pittman Plumbing as a versatile contractor, capable of addressing both water system crises and seasonal maintenance challenges faced by North Carolina residents.
Pittman Plumbing differentiates itself through specific qualities and customer interactions that highlight its service model:
- Specialization in Upflush Systems: The successful installation of a complex upflush bathroom system, involving multiple fixtures (toilet, shower, sink) in a challenging location like a basement, demonstrates specialized technical skill.
- Attention to Detail in Planning: As noted by customers, technicians like Jessie Pittman are highly helpful in the planning stages and focus on details the homeowner may not have considered, ensuring a professional, comprehensive result.
- Respect for the Customer’s Home: A clear commitment to professionalism, evidenced by cleaning up at the end of each workday and maintaining considerate communication throughout the project.
- Accredited Business Status: Holding an A+ rating and being a BBB Accredited Business demonstrates a commitment to ethical business practices and standards for trust, which is a strong positive for new customers.
- Versatile Service Portfolio: The unique offering of both Plumbing and specialized services like Water Testing and Snow Removal provides a singular point of contact for multiple property maintenance needs common in the WNC region.
- Experience and Longevity: With over 18 years in business (since 2007) and a licensed plumber on staff, the company brings long-term, local experience to every job, which is vital for navigating the region’s older homes and infrastructure.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Had Pittman plumping install a upflush bathroom system in our basement. This included installation of the toilet, but also a shower and sink. Jessie was very helpful in the planning and installation. He paid a lot of attention to details that I had not even considered. He cleaned up at the end of each day and was very considerant when communicating with me. I would recommend him for any plumbing work.
July 24 · Edward BilbyMy dad just had to have a new pump put in his well. He bought one from Pittman's several years ago. At the time they put it in, they told dad it was a commercial pump...well, it's not. The guys from the other company said it is NOT a commercial pump, so dad paid for a commercial pump but didn't get one. These people are crooks! I will spread the word about this company. Dad nor I will never use them again. They deserve 0 stars.
January 12 · KSHI have had these guys at my house on numerous occasions and every time they have been on time and friendly. Easy to get along with and hard workers. But after yesterday's experience I will be calling someone else. They arrived at our home at 9:30 as they scheduled. They spent 9.5 hours at my house, 7 of those hours fishing a piece of their broke equipment out of our pipes (not my fault). The plumbers left sewage water splashed all over my bathroom,up the wall and never cleaned anything. Their equipment made a gash in my floor and they killed flowers in my yard. In the past they have done this exact job, it took 2 hours and it cost $170. This time they spent all day at my house 7 hours retrieving their equipment and charged me $300! I don't see why I should have to pay that price after the time taken from my day, the mess they left, and damage done.
April 15 · Jessica GeorgeWe had Jessie quote & replace the all the piping in our crawl space, the 40 plus year old copper was constantly developing new pin hole leaks. Jessie's employee Josh showed up, as scheduled, presenting himself in both a clean and professional manner. Josh was the main worker in the project and Jessie came by several times to review and assist. The work required 3.5 days, I could not be more pleased with the results. It was a real bonus that both Jessie & Josh were both considerate and well manner gentlemen. Pittman Plumbing will definitely be our goto for any plumbing needs in the future.
April 16 · Larry QuickelTo start out with $850.00 was the total fee for everything. labor fee of $75 an hr, $125 truck cost. $375 for parts took them from 11 am to 2:10 pm to do the task. The workers where nice friendly and new there stuff. There where down to earth people just like you and me. Im a single income parent and even tho it was a hit in the wallet for me It was a big job to replace my Water pump for my house I can say im satisfied costumer. They was able to get to me the same day I Called them where over a dozen other people I called was covered up. Will keep this updated as the work was just now preformed and parts/leaks may brake down and may need a repeat within 30 days.
