March 31 · Debbie AguirreI was not happy with Ivitt's Plumbing. They tried to sell me a larger water tank that I did not need and wouldn't fit. They also quoted me a price that I thought was good but they charged me an additional $500 ~ shame on me for not getting that quote on paper! I wish I would have gone with the other plumbing company that gave me an estimate which was more reasonable. Lesson learned ~ get a few estimates and get them on paper!
April 22 · Karen BlancIvitts Plumbing are very professional, from the time I called their office until the leaky shower was fixed, they all were very prompt and professional, could not ask for a better experience. Called one day and problem solved the next day at a reasonable price. Great crew and my plumber from now on!
November 20 · roddy johnsonSuspect billing and lack of transparency.I'll summarize my thoughts first and then breakdown the experience for anyone interested. The receptionist was kind, and the plumber that did the work was great, but the experience with the back of the house leaves a lot to be desired.I like working with local companies because of the personal touch and they are more trustworthy, but with Ivitts, it feels like they use that to nickle and dime you. You can't trust the estimate, and any concerns aren't addressed.A few of the issues, the spoken quote and the quote on the invoice didn't match. An itemized invoice wasn't available when requested. An itemized invoice couldn't be generated when requested. It felt like "we are going to charge you this much because it's a number we pulled out of the air during the consult." I'm sure if they did more than the quoted price, it would be adjusted accordingly without a second thought.I was excited to find a quality business for our future needs, but after this experience, they have lost me as a customer and any of the future business I would recommend to them. I hope this informs you before you become a customer and the bill comes due.Now the breakdown of our experience. When we were getting the quote, we were told "$200 an hour plus materials, so you figure 6-8 hours will put you at $1200 to $1600 for labor alone." That translated to the invoice notation dictacting that we were actually quoted a range of $1600 to $2200. We weren't but I didn't ask to get it in writing at the time of the estimate. I should have, but everyone I had talked to seemed kind and trustworthy. At the time of the job, the plumbers took 6 hours to complete the job (which included a material run from 10:05 to 11:45), so the lower end of the range and we were charged $2121, nearly the maximum of the supposed "quote" though we were at the minimum of labor.A note on the materials run, I asked the person giving the estimate if I needed any materials for the job other than the tankless, and we were told "No. They'll have everything they need on the truck." We were told they were very backed up and short staffed, so we scheduled our install for the next week. We wanted to make sure the installation goes as smoothly as possible due to how backed up everything was, and we had been without hot water for days, so the day before our appointment, I called Ivitts and asked again to confirm nothing else was needed for the appointment. On the phone we were again told no, they should have everything they need and they would see us tomorrow! The next day, as soon as the plumber arrived, he asked for the flush valve they needed to install the tankless. I didn't have it, obviously, due to being unaware it was needed. They proceeded to make a materials list and then left for about an hour and half to get everything.Upon getting the invoice, we were charged a lump sum for the work that was done that included $780 in materials. We had supplied the tankless heater ourselves, and we were supplied with some copper, black pipe, PVC, and a supply kit for the tankless from Ivitts. That seemed very steep for what was provided, so I called asking for an itemized invoice. A breakdown of charges was unavailable and I was told the person that made the invoices would give me a call.He did call, and when I raised my concern I was told "that's just what it is." I tried to breakdown costs with him and again, he listed out the above materials and said "that's just what it costs" without actually giving numbers. To his credit, he did offer to waive the convenience fee for using a card to pay. At a loss of what to say, I agreed and was transfered to pay my bill. I check my account after the charge and they charged me the full amount without waiving the fee.It feels like they had a number they wanted to charge me regardless of the actual job. It didn't take the full 8 hrs? No problem, we will charge them the extra 2 hours in materials. It might be a small amount to them, but $400 is a lot for most people.
