American Trenchless Technologies Introduce
For property owners in Chicago and the wider Illinois region, dealing with underground plumbing and sewer line problems has historically meant enduring disruptive and costly excavations. American Trenchless Technologies, a professional plumber based in Chicago, is dedicated to solving these complex issues using cutting-edge, minimally invasive "trenchless technology." This approach means significant sewer and pipe repairs can be conducted with little to no digging, preserving landscaping, driveways, and foundations—a major advantage for both residential and commercial properties in dense urban and suburban areas.
The company's service profile goes far beyond standard plumbing pipe repair, focusing heavily on advanced infrastructure solutions. This specialization makes them a vital resource for addressing the unique challenges posed by Illinois’s aging sewer systems, such as root infiltration, pipe deterioration, and frequent sewage backups. Their comprehensive offerings span from preventative maintenance to highly technical operations like Cured-In-Place Pipelining (CIPP) and Directional Drilling, ensuring they are equipped for virtually any underground utility problem. This wide range of services, delivered with a professional approach, makes them a key contender for anyone seeking long-term solutions to persistent sewer and drain issues across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Services Offered
As a specialized plumber, American Trenchless Technologies offers an extensive menu of advanced and general plumbing and utility services, categorized under Repair Services. Their offerings are geared towards comprehensive, long-lasting solutions, often using trenchless methods:
- Trenchless Pipelining (CIPP Lining): Repairing damaged pipes by inserting and curing a resin-soaked liner inside the existing pipe, creating a seamless, new structure without major excavation.
- Directional Boring / Directional Drilling: Installing new pipes, such as natural gas lines or water lines, underground without digging a trench, used for areas where minimal surface disruption is necessary.
- Sewer Cleaning and Hydro-Jetting: High-pressure water cleaning (Hydrojetting Service) to clear severe clogs, sludge, and tree root infiltration from sewer and drain lines more effectively than traditional methods.
- Lead Service Line Replacement: Specializing in the removal and replacement of old lead water service lines, a critical service for public health, often mandated or encouraged by local Illinois municipalities.
- Comprehensive Drain & Sewer Solutions: Addressing all types of Drain Issues and Drain Problems, including Sewage Backups, Slow Drains, and routine Rooter/Drain services.
- Plumbing & Utility Installations: Installation of Natural Gas Lines, New Pipes, and providing Residential New Construction plumbing services.
- Vactor Truck Services: Utilizing powerful vacuum trucks for large-scale sewer cleaning, debris removal, and hydro-excavation tasks in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Other Property Services: Beyond plumbing, the company also lists related offerings like Air Ducts, Duct Work, Electrical Wiring, Home Repairs, and Repair Work for various facilities, including Healthcare Facilities.
- Preventative Maintenance: Scheduling and performing regular checks and cleaning to prevent future major failures and extend the life of plumbing infrastructure.
Features / Highlights
The distinct advantages of choosing American Trenchless Technologies center on their technological sophistication and their ability to handle specialized, challenging projects with minimal disruption:
- Trenchless Technology Expertise: Their name and primary services (CIPP Lining, Directional Boring) highlight a specialized focus on 'no-dig' repair methods, which saves Illinois customers significant costs and time associated with landscape or property restoration.
- Advanced Diagnostic and Cleaning Tools: The use of a High Pressure Water Jetter, Hydro-Jetting equipment, and Vactor Truck Services ensures they can effectively diagnose, clean, and prepare severely damaged or blocked lines.
- Structural Pipe Rehabilitation: The Cured In Place Pipelining (CIPP) technique provides a structural, long-term solution to deteriorated sewer lines, as evidenced by a customer who received what "looks to be a new pipe" after the service.
- Focus on Critical Infrastructure: Inclusion of Lead Service Line Replacement and service to Industrial / Commercial / Healthcare Facilities demonstrates their capability to handle complex and health-critical utility projects beyond typical residential plumbing calls.
- High-Quality Customer Communication and Documentation: The positive review specifically praises the company's communication—via text, email, and phone—and the provision of "before and after video" and pictures, demonstrating transparency and professionalism in their work process.
- Comprehensive Service Scope: They offer a true one-stop-shop for underground utility work, from initial Rooter/Drain clearing to full structural pipe rehabilitation and utility installation.

What is Worth Choosing
For residents and businesses in Illinois, particularly those in the Chicago metro area dealing with older sewer lines, American Trenchless Technologies is worth choosing primarily for its mastery of trenchless technology. In a region where properties are often close together and landscaping is a valued asset, the ability to perform Sewer Repair or replace a Lead Service Line with minimal excavation is a massive benefit that saves both time and restoration expenses.
The contrasting reviews highlight the need for consistent customer service. While one review expresses frustration over a lack of a return call, the highly positive "WOW! A++++" review speaks volumes about the quality of the actual service delivery. This client experienced severe root infiltration and pipe cracking, yet the CIPP process gave them a pipe that "looks to be a new pipe," backed by before-and-after video proof, and praised the technicians for being "extremely knowledgeable, polite and professional." This demonstrates the company's high potential for excellence, especially on their core, highly technical projects.
Choosing this company means investing in a durable, long-term fix—a CIPP liner can last for decades—rather than a short-term patch. For major sewer needs, where excavation is usually the most dreaded part of the repair, American Trenchless Technologies offers a modern, high-tech, and minimally disruptive alternative that has proven to provide "excellent work" and great value for "all your sewer needs." Local Illinois users should consider them when faced with complex, non-negotiable underground repairs where property preservation and a durable solution are top priorities.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It’s irritating when you spend the time searching online for help with a problem, read the advertisements and reviews, call the phone number you’re invited to call, spend time with an answering service to give all of the information required and wind up never getting the courtesy of a return call. If that doesn’t bother you, call these people. If you’re like me, call someone else. I gave 1 star since you had to do something with that in order to post your review. How do people like this stay in business?
July 21 · Richard GualanoWOW! A++++Extremely professional and excellent work performed! Before: Had root infiltration at every section, in clay pipe sewer mainline which required cleaning annually. Numerous cracks in pipe sections with pieces missing were found. After CIPP (Cured In Place Pipe): Now have what looks to be a new pipe! Before and after pics speak for themselves.American Trenchless Technologies provided before and after video, communicated via text, email and phone regarding estimates and work times, and technicians were extremely knowledgeable, polite and professional! Overall, an extremely pleasant experience!Definitely would recommend for all your sewer needs!
December 05 · Tony GorskiThe two young men that were sent to do our project, Were the most pleasant and professionals I have ever dealt with. I am in the trades and these guys were remarkable.I highly recommend this contractor if you have plumbing issues.
January 07 · Diana KlimaWe used American Trenchless to get a second opinion regarding a crack in our water main. We did not use them for actual service, but I wanted to take the time to write a review based on the responsiveness, adaptability, and professionalism of the staff that I interacted with during the process. I had Googled companies that repair underground water pipes and Jackie at American Trenchless called me promptly after I requested an online quote. She was extremely pleasant and got a team member out to the house to get a telescopic video on the same day, however, the camera was having issues so they were not able to obtain the video that day. I was able to obtain the original video from the previous company, along with the report, and they were able to provide me with a free quote based on that. The only reason we didn’t move forward with American Trenchless is because the home is under contract and the buyers want to decide on who they would like to use.
November 06 · DDFor almost a year have been trying to identify a water issue and smell coming from my air ducts. After finally identifying the issue received many different ways to resolve the issue from tearing up my foundation to lining my pipes. Being in procurement I want to do an apples to apples comparison. Bottom line American Trenchless Technologies leaves all other companies in the dust. Mark the owner came out and did everything I asked and put it in writing. His employees have been professional and polite. They have exceeded my expectations and I would recommend them to anyone that needs to have pipes repaired.
