Hunter Sewers Introduce
For Illinois homeowners, particularly those in the Elmwood Park and Chicagoland vicinity, maintaining a functional and reliable plumbing and sewer system is a top priority. Hunter Sewers is a local, established plumber specializing in the critical and often challenging area of sewer line maintenance and repair, providing essential services that protect properties from costly water damage and backups. They focus on complex, underground issues—the kind of problems that the average homeowner cannot simply fix with a plunger.
Operating as a sole proprietorship that opened its BBB file in 2008, Hunter Sewers has been a fixture in the local Elmwood Park community for over a decade. The business is managed by Gina Hunter and William Hunter, maintaining a local presence and familiarity with the specific plumbing challenges inherent to the area's older residential homes. This specialization in sewer and drain issues, including advanced techniques like power rodding and video inspection, positions them as key players in addressing some of the most serious and disruptive plumbing problems Illinois residents face.
Sewer line integrity is a major concern in many older Illinois neighborhoods, where tree root intrusion and deteriorating clay pipes can lead to frequent blockages and even sewage backups. Hunter Sewers is equipped to handle these large-scale repair and replacement projects, as noted by one customer who had their entire system of clay pipes in the basement replaced. That customer specifically highlighted the positive impact of the repair work, stating that “Everything in our home works better than ever” and praising the company for being “Super professional, good customer service, and reasonable pricing.”
However, users should exercise due diligence when engaging with any contractor, especially concerning large-scale repairs. It is always recommended that Illinois residents obtain multiple opinions and detailed diagnostics, such as video inspection reports, for any claim of a major sewer line break or necessary replacement. The contrast in customer experiences—from a highly satisfied full pipe replacement to a serious claim of diagnostic and billing issues—underscores the importance of clear communication and cautious decision-making when dealing with expensive, often emergency, sewer services.
Hunter Sewers is strategically located in the Elmwood Park area of Illinois, which provides easy access to Chicago's western suburbs and surrounding communities. This central positioning is crucial for timely service calls, especially when dealing with urgent sewer and drain crises.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our home needed all its clay pipes replaced in the basement and Hunter did the repairs for us. Everything in our home works better than ever and I’d highly recommend them to everyone! Super professional, good customer service, and reasonable pricing.
June 17 · Raffaele SignaThis company is not a company that you want to call when you have sewer issues. Gina is very good at trying to convince you that you have serious issues when you don't. They told me I had a break in my sewer line and had me file a fraudulent claim on my State Farm insurance knowing that all I had was a clogged toilet line from toilet paper. They charged me $645 for the false claim and wanted to charge me $4500 to fix a nonexistent break. I am now in the process of filing a fraud claim with the Attorney General Kim Fox's office to try and recoup the money that was paid to Hunter Sewers.
December 07 · Barbara DobrowolskiI want to thank Gina and the crew once again doing a great job. They are quick to respond & punctual. I have used their services for years. Last time they worked on adding my new dishwasher to my kitchen. This year I had them fix a drip in my bathroom. Replace the old metal pipes with pvc and put a new faucet. Thank you again.
February 04 · Elizabeth ColonFamily-owned. Super Affordable! I got estimates from other companies for my catch basin and they were the lowest by far! And Bill came out and did an outstanding job! Highly Recommend Hunter Sewers!!
September 18 · Cheryl EggertHunter Sewer completely ignored our first appointment and now our second appointment. And as a fair warning, don’t hold your breath for a call back much less an apology. I’m out two mornings waiting, but at least didn’t give them any money. Very unhappy with Hunter’s lack of professionalism!!!
