William G Cocos Plumbing Co Introduce
For nearly a century, when residents and businesses across the greater St. Louis metropolitan area have needed a plumber they can rely on, one name has consistently stood out: William G Cocos Plumbing Co. Founded way back in 1925 by William G. Cocos, Sr., an immigrant and U.S. Army veteran, this business has grown from a small operation in South St. Louis to become a nationally recognized, full-service plumbing contractor. Now running under the name Cocos Plumbing Co. Inc., this family-owned and operated company brings generations of expertise to every job, serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout Missouri and even parts of Illinois.
Plumbing issues are an inevitable part of home and business ownership in Missouri. In the St. Louis area, especially in older neighborhoods like Lemay where many homes were built before 1960, homeowners often face challenges with aging infrastructure, such as cast iron piping, sewer line clogs from tree root intrusion, and general deterioration of underground pipes. When a faucet starts dripping, a toilet backs up, or a major water line bursts, you need a professional, experienced, and dependable team that focuses on value and quality workmanship—not just the lowest price. This commitment to doing the job right the first time is a hallmark of the William G Cocos Plumbing Co. legacy.
The central location of William G Cocos Plumbing Co. (also known as Cocos Plumbing Co. Inc. or Wm G Cocos Co Inc.) is a key advantage for customers across the St. Louis region. The company’s headquarters have been situated at the same key address on Lemay Ferry Road for decades, providing an accessible base for operations throughout the service area. This physical presence speaks to the company’s stability and deep roots in the local community.
The official address for the business is:
738 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125
This location in the South St. Louis County area allows for efficient dispatching of technicians to service areas that span beyond just the St. Louis city limits. Customers in both Missouri and Illinois can benefit from their comprehensive service coverage. Specifically, the business is known to serve areas including:
- St. Louis County, MO
- Franklin County, MO
- Jefferson County, MO
- Saint Charles County, MO
- Madison County, IL
- Monroe County, IL
- Saint Clair County, IL
This extensive service radius, covering a significant portion of the St. Louis metropolitan area and surrounding counties, demonstrates their capacity as a major plumbing contractor.

The long-term success of William G Cocos Plumbing Co. in the highly competitive St. Louis market is rooted in several key business features that distinguish them from other local providers:
- Decades of Local Experience: The company was founded in 1925, giving it nearly 100 years of continuous operation and experience navigating St. Louis’s specific plumbing infrastructure challenges. This historical depth is a significant asset to local customers.
- BBB Accreditation and Rating: They are a Better Business Bureau (BBB) Accredited Business with an outstanding A+ Rating. The business has been BBB Accredited since August 31, 1961, reflecting a long-standing commitment to upholding BBB Standards for Trust.
- Family-Owned and Operated: The business is still run by the Cocos family, with members like Joseph Cocos serving as President and Benjamin Cocos as Office Manager. This multi-generational involvement ensures a personal connection and accountability to the local community.
- Commitment to Value over Low Price: The company emphasizes providing knowledgeable, professional, and well-experienced service that delivers high value, rather than simply focusing on rock-bottom pricing that could compromise quality.
- Broad Market Service: They serve the Residential, Commercial, and Industrial sectors, making them a versatile partner for a wide variety of plumbing needs, from routine home repairs to large-scale Car Wash or Commercial projects.

Choosing the right plumber is critical, especially when dealing with the potential for water damage or costly sewer repairs common in older Missouri communities. The long and reputable history of William G Cocos Plumbing Co. is perhaps the single greatest reason to select them. Since 1925, they have built a reputation based on experience and professional service. The current leadership, including Mr. Joseph Cocos, President, and Mr. Benjamin Cocos, Office Manager, continues the tradition started by William G. Cocos, Sr.
Customers have noted the company’s promptness and professionalism. For instance, one satisfied customer, Lori R., praised the company for their swift attention to a critical issue, stating they were the only plumber out of four contacted to return her call and dispatch a technician for a gas leak in under 24 hours. Another, Janet C., thanked them for a quick response to a repair needed at her mother's home. These accounts reflect a responsiveness and dedication that is essential when a plumbing crisis strikes. Their focus on the "Value" proposition ensures that while they strive to be competitive, the priority remains on responsiveness, doing the job correctly the first time, and delivering prompt, highly efficient service.
While the vast majority of feedback is positive and reflects their A+ BBB rating, one critical, albeit factual, note highlights the importance of clear communication, mentioning a delay in receiving a callback for a major cast iron replacement estimate. This serves as a reminder that as a large, long-standing company with high demand, customers should be proactive in following up if they have an urgent or high-value request to ensure timely scheduling and service delivery, which is a common challenge for all busy, highly-rated contractors. However, the company's continuous operation and high standing with the Better Business Bureau strongly suggest that their professional standards remain high. For any major plumbing repair, water heater replacement, or comprehensive residential, commercial, or industrial project in the St. Louis area, William G Cocos Plumbing Co. offers the kind of historical reliability and comprehensive service portfolio that Missouri users seek.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been dealing with water leaking from under my kitchen floor for months. Had my apartment complex called a plumber in the first place, the problem could have been rectified sooner. Joe, an employee within this company, was very professional, informative, and friendly. I am truly grateful, and satisfied.Crissandra Turner1105 Towne Square Drive
August 04 · Crissandra TurnerI wasn’t really sure what I expected, but saw a lot of good reviews on the Internet so I decided to call to get an estimate for a cast iron replacement of my full stack. I was told that an estimator would be in contact with me two weeks ago and I was never called back. I recalled again Monday last week to and the woman told me she would call me right back and never did. I’m literally ready to give you over five grand in business but you don’t have the time to even call me back? You could just tell me that you don’t have the capability to service me. Don’t just blow me off. Bad business practices; Goes to show why it’s very important to know who is working for you and representing your business
June 23 · Kevin GunnA horrible company to try to do business with! I closed on my house in Nov 2024 . This company was listed on the disclosure for the septic system . I wanted to use the same company because I really didn't know what I was getting into with septic! The reception Sue is who I talked to and ensured me that I would get a return phone call. Weeks later, no return phone call. I called again and spoke to ( he said the owner) saying he would be buy and look around... never has come by , no return phone call!Beware you will be waiting for ever ! No respect for any one else's time!! We are now 5 months later!
April 18 · Denise KleinschrodtJoe was friendly, knowledgeable and on time. He worked efficiently and even gave me free estimates in two other jobs while he was there. Cocos came recommended and I would use them again.
January 16 · m3ghaZI had Cocos Plumbing come out & give an estimate for a Hot Water Heater & replace kitchen Drain stack in basement. Response was very fast to get estimate. (I also called 3 other plumbers the prior day & never heard from 2 of them yet & 1 called after Mr. Cocos already gave me an estimate. I told him don't bother, I hired another plumber.) Cocos Plumbing was very fast to come out & do all the work in a very professional manor. Joe R. did the replacement & kitchen drain repair in a very short time & did a great job. I would recommend Cocos Plumbing To anyone needing plumbing repairs.
