★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Edit! I found out they installed my softener incorrectly. They put pipe dope over the valve and head unit. My head unit exploded yesterday because of this. No longer recommend. Had another plumber out yesterday that said if this is how they are going to do water softener’s they have no business doing them. Of course it’s been a year so the Lowe’s warranty is out of time.We had our water softener that the previous owners put in start leaking. We researched softeners on Lowe’s website and found one that we thought would be good. Ordered it up and then had Lowe’s install it through contracting with Trio Plumbing. Trio was awesome the entire time. They came out to see what we had existing, took some photos, worked up the bid, got it sent back to Lowe’s. Lowe’s called me to verify that I had already purchased the softener, and asked if we were ready to accept the bid. Not too long after that Trio scheduled the install, was very quick and prompt. Showed up on time, out with the old softener and in with the new, about 5 hours. They even disposed of the old system for me! Then we had a leak, no fault of the installer. We had a nice puddle on the floor of the basement about a week after install, found leak Saturday evening, steady drip, called in and they unexpectedly answered late Saturday evening! They were at my house 7am Monday. Very quick! They got the leak stopped, but it came back again. We determined that it was probably a manufacturer defect, but they replaced the connector anyway dying the next and final visit. In the meantime I reached out to Lowe’s and Aquasure. I dried up the area of the leak after the connection was replaced on 3rd visit and have continued to monitor it for a couple weeks now and we have been dry as a bone, I think what I was seeing after the connection was replaced on 3rd visit was some residual water that made it look like it was still leaking after the even though it looked like it was trying to bubble out and around at the connection, but the new connector seems to be the fix. In the meantime I contacted Aquasure and Lowe’s, and have the replacement part to the softener if needed, but at this point everything seems to be holding bone dry and working as it should. Long story short Trio was easy to work with, the installer would even reply to my texts, even when he probably didn’t have to. I’m sure my install was a bit frustrating since it kept leaking, but at no fault of Trio, but in the end we got it fixed and now even have a pre filter too. They were always on time and prompt. I recommend them. Excellent job!

July 11 · Laura NewberrySounded nice on the phone, confirmed appointment twice and nobody showed up. Changed my entire schedule to be home to hopefully have someone come fix water heater and now they just said they are sorry. So they aren’t coming and I still don’t have hot water. Wouldn’t do business here.
October 02 · Rebekah BarberUpdate: Since I left the following review RE: the owner's condescending attitude, which is also mentioned in numerous other customer reviews, Trio Plumbing will not mail me an original paid receipt & lien waiver, even though I've paid in full. This is illegal retaliatory behavior so I've turned it over to the BBB (Better Business Bureau).Please read the reviews & don't make the same mistake I did. Mark, (the owner), is very unprofessional, rude, condescending, all attitude, will not allow you to speak 4 words before he talks over you, denies statements that came out of his own mouth, combative, zero customer service skills, etc. I have never been treated like that with any other plumbing company in St. Louis. I will never use Trio Plumbing again nor will I ever refer anyone to Trio Plumbing. Lesson learned.I learned from my father years ago to always take before & after photos & audio record all phone calls when you hire a vendor to work on your home so I have photos as well as audio recordings.There are numerous Google reviews that state the same behavior that others have also experienced from you so I have a right to post what I experienced from you as well.Since you insisted on replying via Google to my other concerns that I emailed you about, I will also respond to you here...1. I specifically asked how Trio preferred to be paid & you replied credit card or check on my audio recording. Then, you denied saying that & said you only accept cash or check & retorted that "you only hear what you want to hear".2. When Trio arrived, I asked a simple question as to why the old water heater drainage hoses (3" wide total for 3 drainage hoses tethered together with zip ties) centered on top of the floor drain (4 1/2" wide floor drain) were lying on top of the drain & not inserted inside the drain? I stated that my concern was if the 50 gallon old water heater would empty out, wouldn't it make more sense if the hoses were inserted inside the drain but Trio told me the hoses don't need to be inside the drain.3. After the work was completed & Trio left, I thought I only saw 1 shut off valve & knew that the before photos showed 2 shut off valves. I asked you why they removed 1 of the shut off valves and you informed me that both shut off valves were still there. As I was talking to you on the phone, I stood on my tippy toes (I'm short) & replied yes, you are correct, I could see the 2nd shut off valve now as it was over my head, higher up on the back end of copper pipe, & apologized for my mistake. (attached photo, which Mark said "clearly" shows 2 shut off valves. Nope.)4. As for your comment, "saved you a bundle of money" "at a great cost savings"? I paid $1,400 for a State Commercial Grade 40 gallon electric water heater & never questioned or had an issue with the price.5. The installers asked me for old towels, which I provided, & had to throw away after they left because they're stained w/black grease (or oil?), emailed you a photo, & asked why Trio doesn't bring their own old towels to job sites?6. They placed the new 40 gallon water heater butted flat up against the far side of the drip pan, 1 1/2" from the wall & turned the drip pan 1" to the right for some reason, away from the floor drain. The old larger 50 gallon water heater was centered in the drip pan. Therefore, the rigid plastic drainage tube that is connected to the drip pan & runs to the floor drain is now off by 1", meaning if the water heater drains, it won't drain down the floor drain & will drain on floor & I have a condo below my 2nd floor condo. In our phone call, you insisted it's fine. It's not. (attached photo, after installation)Since it was so difficult to speak with you on the phone due to your condescending attitude/interrupting, I said I didn't want to do business with you anymore, will pay someone else to correct the drain hoses back to their original position centered over the floor drain, & I clearly said good-bye.As requested, please mail me a paid receipt & lien waiver.
January 14 · Betty BonI used Trio to install a water heater that I supplied around three years ago. Upon a new occupancy inspection last week I found that there were FOUR code violations with the Trio's installation and I had to spend an additional $570 with a different company to correct the errors.RUN from this garbage plumbing company.
