Sheridan Plumbing and Sewer Introduce
For large-scale infrastructure projects, complex commercial plumbing needs, or specialized sewer and water main services across Chicagoland and Northern Illinois, a plumbing and excavating contractor with advanced capabilities is often required. Sheridan Plumbing and Sewer, Inc. positions itself as a specialized provider in this arena. Incorporated in the State of Illinois in June of 2004, the company quickly grew from a small operation to a mid-size entity, building a reputation in pipeline cleaning and closed-circuit televising (CCTV) within the greater Chicagoland area.
The firm caters to a diverse clientele, including homeowners, but primarily focuses on Fortune 500 companies, general contractors, government agencies, and municipalities throughout Northern Illinois. This specialization indicates an expertise in complex, large-scale underground utility, sewer, and commercial plumbing projects that go beyond typical residential plumbing calls. Their extensive service array includes hydro-excavation, cured-in-place pipe lining (CIPP), and sophisticated infrastructure inspection, highlighting a commitment to using modern, trenchless technology for repair and maintenance.
Sheridan Plumbing and Sewer emphasizes its foundational belief in providing service with quality workmanship and materials at a fair price, delivered in a responsive, courteous, and professional manner. The company’s management team brings a significant amount of collective experience, ensuring that field operations are guided by seasoned professionals. Furthermore, their field personnel are signatories to various unions—including Plumbers, Operators, Laborers, and Mechanics—and maintain crucial safety certifications such as OSHA 10 Hour, HAZMAT/HAZWOPER, and training in confined space entry, excavation safety, and traffic control. This level of professional training is paramount when dealing with extensive utility and underground work in Illinois.
As a fully licensed, bonded, and insured company, Sheridan Plumbing and Sewer is even pre-qualified with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for excavation, drainage, and drainage cleaning projects. This qualification is a testament to their capability to handle public-sector and large-scale utility contracts safely and effectively. Their mission focuses on fostering satisfied and loyal customers, intending to become the go-to referral for business associates, peers, friends, and family across their service areas in Illinois.
However, users seeking their services should note that the experience may vary, as indicated by some customer feedback. While the company outlines a professional mission, there have been public reports detailing significant property damage during projects, alleged aggressive behavior from certain foreman, and repeated severance of utility lines due to mapping issues during large municipal projects, which should be a factor in vendor selection for sensitive or large-scale jobs in Illinois.
Sheridan Plumbing and Sewer, Inc. is strategically headquartered in the Bedford Park area of Illinois, providing an operational base that allows them to efficiently service the greater Chicagoland region and Northern Illinois. This location, near major transportation routes, is key to managing their large-scale equipment and field crews.

For residents, businesses, or government bodies in Illinois that require services beyond routine household plumbing—particularly in the areas of underground infrastructure, utility lines, and large-scale sewer and drain maintenance—Sheridan Plumbing and Sewer provides a level of specialized expertise that few traditional plumbers can match. Their comprehensive service list, which includes hydro-excavation, CCTV inspection, and Cured-in-Place Pipe lining, makes them uniquely qualified to handle the most demanding infrastructure challenges across Northern Illinois, including the complex issues often faced by Chicagoland’s older sewer and water systems.
Their strength lies in their certified union workforce and experienced management team, which is vital for compliance and execution on complex, high-risk projects. Being pre-qualified by the Illinois Department of Transportation also serves as a strong indicator of their operational reliability and technical competence in public works. They are equipped with the specialized, heavy-duty equipment necessary for large-scale sewer and pipeline cleaning and repair that typical residential service providers do not possess.
However, potential clients, especially homeowners associations and general contractors, should weigh the company's technical capabilities against available public feedback regarding project management and on-site staff conduct. While they are a clear industry leader in specific technical fields, users should seek assurances regarding professionalism, site management, and accountability for property damage before engaging in large contracts, to ensure the outcome aligns with the high-quality mission the company sets forth.

May 16 · Isaias SI strongly advise against hiring Sheridan Plumbing & Sewer. Our condo association had an extremely negative experience with them during the Village of Orland Park Water Main Rehab Project. The foreman (a man with gray hair and a long goatee) displayed an extreme level of unprofessionalism. He was constantly yelling at the staff, our HOA vendors, and even the HOA residents. His behavior was completely unacceptable and created a hostile environment.Additionally, the company repeatedly severed utility lines due to improper mapping. When they severed the cable and internet lines, I approached the foreman to inquire about the repair status. Instead of providing a reasonable response, he swore at me, waved his hands in my face, and gave me the finger. This level of disrespect is intolerable.Furthermore, one of our landscapers mistakenly removed some JULIE flags, which was an honest mistake. The foreman’s reaction was to run over and scream at him so intensely that the landscapers left the property and did not continue their service. This kind of aggressive behavior is inexcusable. The contractor also caused significant damage to our property, including the landscaping, pavement, gutters, and concrete. The repairs for these damages are going to take an extremely long time and have caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.Overall, the lack of professionalism, repeated mistakes, and aggressive behavior from the foreman have left us extremely dissatisfied. I cannot recommend Sheridan Plumbing & Sewer. 0 stars.
May 23 · Michael DYour drives in Blue island this week are the worst. They are rude, inconsiderate. They are block the street, driveways. Cars can't get through and the kids can't get to school on time because your trucks are blocking the street. You need to do a better job. Someone or something will get hit.
December 04 · Martin OneillThey showed up to our site unannounced when a quote was respecting. Then, instead of waiting for us to open the gate to provide access for a survey, their surveyor trespassed onto the fenced off site. This was completely unacceptable and we will not be working with them.
August 04 · Matt FaryanSmalllllll company, only do Sewer or water main work. Technically plumbing but more utility work. Smells bad.
