If you need a plumber call Roto-Rooter you can pick your date and time for appointment, which is wonderful and they give you a 30 minute advance notice your technician will arrive I was so very pleased with the service I received. The technician tells you exactly how much the job will cost 💲 and with any luck the problem may not be as costly as expected. I had a few things going on and it was all repaired in a timely manner . We had a terrible experience with this company and I strongly recommend you do not use them.After a basement overflow left raw sewage on the floor, we called Roto-Rooter since they had fixed a small toilet issue for us a couple of years ago. Initially, the technician said we’d need major pipe work and soon brought in someone from their “restoration division.” That’s when things went downhill fast.The restoration rep was slick and immediately claimed there was additional moisture elsewhere in the basement, insisting that everything needed to be torn up. To be fair, we were exhausted and overwhelmed by the situation but once the shock wore off, it became clear we were being taken advantage of.This became an insurance claim, and thankfully our adjuster helped us review their invoice. The bill was full of inflated and false charges.•They billed us for moving items from the basement to the garage even though my family and I moved over 95% of the items ourselves.•They charged for cleaning the hot water heater which they never touched and is in a separate area of the basement.•They billed nearly $200 to move a vanity that was already sitting in our garage before the incident.•They also overcharged for supplies like plastic sheeting and gloves. A third of the price for the same stuff on Amazon.Our insurance company had to fight several of these charges, and Roto-Rooter eventually reduced their invoice, a clear sign that they knew what they were doing wasn’t right. Thankfully, we only used them for the initial cleanup and stopped there. We later hired a local plumbing company whose owner personally came out, explained the problem, reviewed videos, and walked us through every step. They were honest, thorough, and professional everything Roto-Rooter wasn’t. We’ve since recommended that company to all our neighbors and friends, and told them to stay away from Roto-Rooter.When I later shared our experience with others in the restoration industry, more than one person admitted that Roto-Rooter’s reputation is widely known for taking advantage of customers in crisis. Please, if you ever face an emergency like ours, take your time. Get multiple estimates, have a coffee or beer, and document everything: phone calls, texts, emails, photos, and receipts. Every business deserves to make a profit, but there’s a big difference between being profitable and being predatory. Roto-Rooter chose the latter.

We had an emergency issue around midnight and we called three plumbers. Roto-Rooter is the ONLY one whose technician actually called us back! He talked us through what was happening and was willing to come out right then. We ended up having him come the next morning and he did a great job answering a ton of questions. He was polite, professional, patient, and thorough.
