Rick Cornele Plumbing Introduce
Rick Cornele Plumbing is a local plumbing contractor based in Middletown, Ohio, focusing primarily on repair services for residential customers across the region. Operating out of a local Middletown address, the company has historically been a service provider for various home plumbing needs, from general fixes to more specific requirements like water heater installation and licensed backflow work.
The core offering of the business centers on essential plumbing maintenance and repairs, which are critical for maintaining the safety and functionality of homes in the greater Cincinnati-Dayton area. Public records indicate that Rick Cornele Plumbing is licensed for specific, regulated services like backflow prevention testing in neighboring municipalities, suggesting a certain level of technical certification and expertise within the field.
However, recent customer feedback suggests that potential clients should exercise caution regarding communication and follow-up service. While the business has a history with loyal customers, recent attempts by both new and returning clients to contact the company for scheduled work or warranty claims have reportedly been unsuccessful, with calls and voicemails going unanswered. Furthermore, a specific complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) detailed a serious issue involving a defective water heater that was allegedly not warrantied as promised, with the customer claiming a lack of correct piping was noted by a subsequent, different installer. This pattern of alleged poor communication and non-responsive behavior is a key factor for any Ohio resident to weigh heavily before engaging their services.
In the home services industry, a company's reliability in handling both the initial job and subsequent warranty or follow-up work is paramount. The conflicting information—historical customer loyalty versus recent documented difficulties in obtaining service or warranty claims—necessitates thorough due diligence by potential users in the Ohio community.
Location and Accessibility
Rick Cornele Plumbing is situated at 1921 Manchester Ave, Middletown, OH 45042, USA. This address places the business centrally within the Middletown community, providing a local base for serving customers in Butler County and surrounding Southwestern Ohio areas, including Springboro where they are listed as a backflow-licensed plumber.
The primary contact information for the company is the business phone number, (513) 424-1263, which is also listed as the mobile contact, +1 513-424-1263. This single point of contact is intended to facilitate communication for service inquiries and scheduling. However, as noted in recent customer reviews, the accessibility of the company has been a significant point of failure, with customers reporting multiple unreturned calls and an inability to schedule services or resolve warranty claims, even when attempting to reach the office or mobile number over a period of weeks.
Services Offered
As a professional plumber, Rick Cornele Plumbing’s scope of work is generally centered around the core services required for residential and light commercial plumbing systems, as indicated by public records and historical accounts. While a detailed, official service list is not explicitly provided, their offerings fall under the broad category of repair services, often including the following areas, and they are noted for specific licensing:
- General Plumbing Repair and Maintenance: Addressing common household issues such as leaks, drips, and minor pipe malfunctions.
- Water Heater Installation and Repair: Services related to the installation of new water heaters and the maintenance or repair of existing units.
- Plumbing for Remodels or Additions: Providing the necessary pipe and fixture installation for bathroom renovations or home additions.
- Faucet, Fixture, and Pipe Work: Repairing or replacing essential plumbing fixtures throughout a home.
- Backflow Prevention Testing: The company is licensed to perform backflow prevention testing, a specialized and often mandatory service in some Ohio communities like Springboro.
- Drainage Services: Dealing with various forms of drain clogs and blockages within the plumbing system.
Features and Highlights
The features of Rick Cornele Plumbing are defined by their local roots and certifications, tempered by recent challenges in customer relations and service delivery.
- Local Middletown Contractor: The company is based directly in Middletown, OH, serving the local community with a physical address and long-standing presence.
- Licensed for Backflow Prevention: Public listings indicate the contractor is licensed for specialized backflow testing, demonstrating technical capability in a highly regulated plumbing segment.
- History with Loyal Customers: Past customers have reported excellent job performance, noting that the work was done "right and... the first time," and describing the team as knowledgeable.
- Focus on Repair Services: The company specializes in addressing and fixing existing problems within the residential plumbing infrastructure.
- Family Business Mention: At least one review has referenced the business as a "family business," which can often appeal to local customers looking for personal service.

What is Worth Choosing
For residents in the Ohio region, deciding whether to choose Rick Cornele Plumbing requires a careful consideration of their technical qualifications against their documented service reliability.
On the positive side, what is worth choosing is their Specialized Licensing for Backflow Prevention. This indicates they possess the necessary, high-level credentials for this essential safety service, which is a required maintenance item in many parts of the state. Historical accounts also praise the quality of their completed work, suggesting that when a job is performed, it meets a high technical standard.
However, the decision must be heavily weighed by the severe and consistent recent reports of Non-Responsiveness and Warranty Failure. In the plumbing industry, a lack of communication that results in being "hung up on" or calls going unreturned for weeks—even from loyal, repeat customers—can transition a minor inconvenience into a major property emergency. The documented issue regarding the allegedly defective water heater installation and the subsequent refusal to honor a warranty, resulting in a customer filing a BBB complaint, is a significant red flag for any Ohio homeowner concerned about long-term accountability.
Therefore, while the business has a local presence and technical license in backflow services, the risk associated with poor customer service, particularly in the event of an emergency or a crucial warranty claim, must be factored into the decision. Potential users should proceed with caution and seek recent verification of the company's ability to schedule and perform work promptly before relying on them for critical home infrastructure needs.

Rick Cornele Plumbing Reviews
Claimed was going to warranty a defective water heater he installed for us four years ago. Took our receipt for this and we never heard any more. We called three times and he never returned the call. Called him from a different number and surprise he answered and claimed he was busy. .....for three weeks??? Hung up on my husband when he was confronted. A complaint has been filed with BBB. Had another company come out and replace the unit and they indicated the pipes Rick used were not correct.
November 23 · Amy LargeToo bad they won't call us back.....my mom has used them before with no problems....she called Loris cell # a couple months ago about some needed work, no call back...few days ago she called the office and Loris phone, left voice mails, still no call backs. Thanks, you've just lost a loyal customer, we now have a new plumber. Will never use them again.
April 15 · Cheryl BowmanMy parents, both in their 70's, recently hired this company to remodel their bathroom to make it more accessible for my father who is battling cancer. After weeks, the work is still unfinished and the work that was done is terrible. The daughter is claiming she is unable to do the work but wants paid anyway. It's disgusting to see any company attempt to take advantage of the disabled or elderly. When she did show up for work it was extremely late at night and stayed until early AM hours. She even asked for gas money when she forgot a part. This is the most unprofessional, and possible illegal business I have ever encountered.
