Low Dollar Plumbing Introduce
For residents and property owners in Washburn, Iowa, and the broader Waterloo area, finding a plumbing professional who combines genuine skill with truly fair pricing is often a top priority. Low Dollar Plumbing, based right in Washburn, operates on a straightforward and highly valued principle: keeping overhead low to pass the savings directly to the customer. This local business, helmed by an owner who is deeply involved in every job, aims to build a company based on "honest work at fair prices."
This commitment to value resonates strongly with local Iowa customers, many of whom are seeking cost-effective solutions for common and unexpected home repair needs. The company's hands-on approach means that when you call, you get the owner, providing a direct line of communication and accountability that is often lost with larger, more generalized service providers. This personalized service has garnered positive feedback, with customers praising the owner's punctuality, preparedness, and ability to handle a job quickly and efficiently on the same day.
One customer highlighted this efficiency and thoroughness when installing a handwashing sink: "He got our handwashing sink put in really quickly, within a few hours. Very responsive. Measured out everything, pulled permits, went above and beyond for a reasonable price. I would use him again!" This review demonstrates competence in modern installation, adherence to local regulations (pulling permits), and the kind of speedy, professional result that local users rely on.
However, it is important for prospective Iowa customers to review all experiences, as the nature of plumbing and HVAC work can sometimes lead to disputes over technical aspects of installation. One customer reported a poor outcome following a furnace installation, citing a problem with the thermostat placement right next to the unit, which allegedly led to inconsistent heating during the cold Iowa winter. The customer stated, "Our house has been frigid ever since he was here. The furnace shuts off within a few minutes of kicking on because the forced air hits the thermostat 3 foot away." This specific and serious complaint, while concerning, serves as a prompt for customers to thoroughly discuss and verify the placement of critical control components like thermostats, especially during major installations that impact winter comfort.
Despite these mixed accounts, the recurring theme in the positive reviews is the value derived from the low-overhead model and the personal touch of a small business dedicated to its community. They are known for being very knowledgeable, doing great work, and providing terrific value, suggesting that for many standard plumbing, water heater, and air conditioning service and installation needs, Low Dollar Plumbing offers a compelling, budget-conscious option.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Did a great job! Friendly and is a good man. Showed us pictures of his wife which was very sweet. He got our handwashing sink put in really quickly, within a few hours. Very responsive. Measured out everything, pulled permits, went above and beyond for a reasonable price. I would use him again!Sorry about the picture quality, took it from my laptop camera. Everything looks great and works great. Seems like people on here give him a bad rep but some people aren't that great with talking. I would recommend him.
October 12 · Alissa MarieLook elsewhere. He installed our furnace and put the thermostat on the wall right next to it defeating the purpose. Our house has been frigid ever since he was here. The furnace shuts off within a few minutes of kicking on because the forced air hits the thermostat 3 foot away. He says no the air will circulate through the house before hitting the thermostat. Hes no good and left us in the freezing cold ever since he was here. Take your advice and shop elsewhere he should know better than to do what he did but apparently he don't
January 08 · M JohnNot the friendliest man but he fixed my kitchen plumbing issue. He showed up faster than I thought possible, fixed the issue before I was even home from work. He was very reasonably priced and frankly I would use his company again and recommend his work.
March 23 · Denise MurphyWorst attitude And he was called out to my place to fix. The water heater broke apart on it. Wanted me to replace it instead. I had to get a water heater and then he refused to install it and hung up on me don't ever go through him.
September 04 · TheWarden SoliderHorrible. Horrible. Horrible! Installed our furnace through Operation Threshold. We would have never hired him personally. This guy just let himself into our home without knocking first. He left the gate to our backyard open and allowed our dogs to run away. He was point blank rude. Would hang up when needed to talk to him. While he was doing the job I refused to talk to him and only spoke to Operation Threshold. He installed the condensation pump in front of one of two filter doors. Stating per city code you only needed one filter. He only replaced one filter, again Stating city code only required him to change one. He installed a pipe in front of our laundry shoot door not allowing us to close it anymore. His response was that he wasn't going to change it. Left metal, as well as the dirty filter laying on the ground when he was done working.Six months later when we are finally using the furnace, we are having problems with it. Call him, he stated he never put one into our house. His name is on the furnace!!! Told us the filters were the issue and left. We called Operation Threshold who came and confirmed that the filters were not the issue. He was rude, throwing around the filters, yanking out the furnace filter covers.... was angry that the filter wouldn't slide out easily (remember the pump I said he installed earlier? It's in the way.)I told him to leave our home and that I wouldn't be paying him for coming. Our furnace is supposed to come with a year warranty. He is refusing to service it. Thus, no warranty other than the parts from the manufacturer. Oh, the furnace is also too small for our home.I would recommend someone to use space heaters before hiring him for heat services or poop in a bucket before he's working on plumbing. We are reaching out to the better buisness burial to report for poor work practices.
