Tri-Star Plumbing Inc Introduce
For residents across the Michigan region, finding reliable local businesses, especially for essential home services like plumbing, is a priority. Tri-Star Plumbing Inc, based in Southfield, is one of the many service providers in the area offering various plumbing solutions. This summary aims to provide an objective look at the company, drawing solely upon the available public business data and customer feedback, to help local users make informed decisions about their plumbing needs in Michigan.
The company is identified as a local 'Plumber' offering general 'Repair services' and other unspecified 'Offerings.' However, public perception, as documented in customer reviews, frequently highlights significant issues that potential clients should consider when evaluating their options for plumbing work in the Detroit metropolitan area and surrounding communities. These reports focus heavily on alleged practices related to initial quoting, handling of deposits, project timelines, and the quality of the final repair work. When choosing any local contractor, Michigan users are encouraged to perform thorough due diligence, including checking multiple independent review sites and professional licensing boards.
Location and Accessibility
Tri-Star Plumbing Inc is physically located at 28067 Fontana Dr in Southfield, Michigan (MI), 48076, USA. Southfield is a principal city of the Detroit metropolitan area, making the business potentially accessible to residents throughout Oakland County and the wider metro Detroit region. Its presence within a major metropolitan hub suggests its service area likely encompasses nearby cities and townships. As with any service-based business, prospective customers in Michigan should verify their specific service area before inquiring about work. This location situates it within a highly competitive market, where numerous other licensed and insured plumbing services also operate.
While the physical address is in Southfield, the company’s ability to reach customers across different parts of Michigan depends on its operational radius. Potential clients are advised to confirm travel fees or mileage restrictions, though customer feedback does not specifically address this aspect. The focus of the available feedback is primarily on the business's alleged conduct after initial contact, rather than its geographic accessibility.
Services Offered
Based on the available business information, Tri-Star Plumbing Inc lists its primary service type as Plumber and specifies that it offers 'Repair services' and general 'Offerings.' Customer feedback offers specific (albeit highly negative) examples of the types of work that were allegedly attempted or completed. Potential services, as inferred from complaints, include:
- Pipe repair, specifically underneath a bathtub.
- Main drain line services, including opening and subsequent completion of the drain work.
- General plumbing repair, as indicated by the business's self-description.
However, users should be aware that the experiences reported by customers regarding these services detail serious professional issues. One report specifically mentions an attempt to 'fix' pipes underneath a tub, which allegedly resulted in the breakage of "everything on purpose" to then dramatically escalate the quoted price. Another report alleges that the main drain was 'busted open' and 'left open for a month,' leading to later basement issues due to 'shabby and unprofessional work.' These accounts suggest that while the company may offer a range of repair services, the execution and integrity of that service provision have been severely questioned by those who have used the company.
Features / Highlights
The features and operational highlights of Tri-Star Plumbing Inc, according to customer reports, center largely on controversial business practices and alleged failures in service delivery. These reported features include:
- Requesting Deposits for Work: Customers report that the business asked for a 50% deposit on an initial quote. This practice, particularly for repair work, was viewed by one customer as a sign of a non-reputable plumber, representing a key point of contention and loss of funds for the client.
- Significant Price Increases: A reported feature is the alleged practice of substantially increasing the price after commencing work. One customer's initial $400 quote reportedly escalated to a $2,000 demand, again accompanied by a request for a 50% deposit on the new, higher figure.
- Delayed or Non-Responsive Service: A common theme in feedback is a significant delay in starting or completing work after a deposit was taken. One customer reported needing to call 'SEVERAL times' over four days just to get a response and have work started, contrary to a promise of next-day service.
- Allegedly Substandard and Damaging Work: The most critical reported feature relates to the quality of the repair. Claims include intentionally breaking existing fixtures to inflate the price, doing 'shabby and unprofessional work,' and a subsequent failure (nine months later) requiring the basement to be dug up again.
- Legal and Regulatory Mentions: A self-proclaimed 'highlight' from one customer's perspective is the intent to report the business to the Better Business Bureau due to the alleged fraudulent and criminal activity.
- Business Card Irony: A specific mention notes the irony of the company's business card tagline, “Your money won’t go down the drain,” given the customer's severe negative experience and financial loss.

What is Worth Choosing
When Michigan residents are deciding which local plumber to choose, the value proposition must be carefully assessed against the available evidence. For Tri-Star Plumbing Inc, the public record is overwhelmingly defined by allegations of professional and ethical misconduct, making the decision to choose this business highly problematic based on customer experience. What might be considered 'worth choosing' is unfortunately counterbalanced by serious warnings from previous clients.
Based purely on the existing customer narratives, it is challenging to identify positive attributes. The reported issues—specifically being called "liar and thief," "criminals," and "crooks"—are severe and should serve as paramount factors in any potential client's decision-making process. Customers explicitly advised others to "run from tristar" and to "Don’t waste your money with this place."
One customer explicitly stated a key lesson: 'reputable plumbers won’t ask for a deposit,' suggesting that if Tri-Star Plumbing Inc follows its reported practice of demanding large deposits (50%) before work starts or after an alleged intentional price hike, this could be an indicator to seek services elsewhere. Another point worth noting is the alleged lack of experience and professionalism, evidenced by reports of a job requiring re-digging nine months later and pipes being broken on purpose.
Ultimately, what is 'worth choosing' for a Michigan resident is a reliable, trustworthy, and skilled professional. The only available public reviews for Tri-Star Plumbing Inc strongly suggest that the company's past service delivery has failed to meet these standards, prompting customers to recommend checking external, reliable sources like Angie’s List and reporting the company to the Better Business Bureau. For residents in the Southfield area and beyond, a thorough investigation of alternative, well-reviewed, and licensed plumbers is strongly recommended to ensure a secure and professionally executed plumbing repair.

Tri-Star Plumbing Inc Reviews
Pervis is a liar and thief. Don’t waste your time with these criminals.I initially got a quote for $400 and they asked for 50% deposit. My fault for not knowing that reputable plumbers won’t ask for a deposit. Lesson learned. They took the money on Thursday promising to start the work the next morning but I had no idea they weren't planning on coming back. I have to call them SEVERAL times until someone finally answered the phone and 4 days later finally came to my home to “fix” the pipes underneath my tub.Well of course, they broke everything on purpose and tried to jack up the price to $2000 AGAIN asking for a 50% deposit. These guys are inexperienced, unprofessional, and a bunch of crooks.Their business cards say “Your money won’t go down the drain”...ohhh the irony. Don’t waste your money with this place. Read reviews before hiring a plumber...I’d suggest loookg on Angie’s List or another reliable source.Who ever posted a good review is probably one of their family members....”Tri Star Plumbing”- the name says it all. I will be reporting these guys to the better business bureau.
