Service Line Warranties of America, a HomeServe Company Introduce
The cost and inconvenience of unexpected home system failures are a major concern for Pennsylvania homeowners. Many residents are often unaware that they are financially responsible for the repair or replacement of the service lines—such as water and sewer pipes—that run from their home to the utility connection point, an area typically not covered by standard homeowners' insurance policies. This is where Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA), a HomeServe Company, steps in. They are not a traditional plumber or general contractor performing routine maintenance directly, but rather a provider of optional repair service plans designed to protect homeowners from the high, unexpected costs and hassle of emergency utility line and in-home plumbing repairs.
Headquartered locally in Canonsburg, PA, SLWA partners with numerous cities and municipalities across the United States, including many in Pennsylvania, to offer affordable, voluntary protection plans. Their core service is to provide peace of mind by managing the logistics and covering the cost of covered service line failures. When a homeowner with a plan experiences a covered emergency—such as a water line leak or a sewer line blockage—they call the 24/7 hotline. SLWA then dispatches a licensed, insured contractor from their network to perform the necessary covered repairs, saving the homeowner the expense and the stress of finding a qualified professional in a crisis.
This model addresses a significant gap in home protection, focusing on the often-forgotten infrastructure between a house and the street. While the concept is highly valued by many customers who have experienced quick and painless resolutions to complex main line clogs, as indicated in positive reviews, prospective customers should carefully review the coverage terms, as service delivery can sometimes be complex due to the nature of warranty contracts, particularly concerning whether the plan will pay for a full repair versus multiple temporary fixes like snaking a drain. Transparency and prompt communication are the company’s stated goals for service delivery.
Service Line Warranties of America operates from its central location in the Canonsburg area of Pennsylvania, situated in Washington County, which is part of the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area. This local corporate presence ensures they are a Pennsylvania-based entity managing operations across a vast network of service providers.
The corporate address for SLWA, a HomeServe Company, is:
- 4000 Town Center Blvd Suite 270, Canonsburg, PA 15317, USA
While the service is delivered through a network of local, licensed contractors dispatched to the customer's home across various municipalities, the Canonsburg office acts as a key operational hub. The primary accessibility for homeowners is the 24/7 toll-free emergency hotline, which is the immediate point of contact for all claim and repair requests. This hotline ensures immediate attention, regardless of the time of day or night, a crucial feature for plumbing and utility emergencies in Pennsylvania.
The company is focused on a widespread service area enabled by its contractor network, reaching homeowners who enroll in their optional programs, often through partnerships with local water and sewer authorities across the state. They have a history of service excellence, which includes being recognized by the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Service Line Warranties of America specializes in providing optional, affordably priced protection plans that cover the repair costs for covered breakdowns of home utility and plumbing systems, eliminating the need for deductibles or service fees for a covered repair up to the benefit limit. Their repair services are broad, managed through their network of local, licensed contractors.
The scope of covered repair services generally includes:
- Exterior Water Line Repair: Addressing leaks, breaks, and replacement of the water service line from the property boundary to the home's shut-off valve, caused by normal wear, age, ground shifting, or corrosion.
- Sewer Line Repair and Cleaning: Covering repairs, replacements, and clearing blockages—including those caused by tree root invasion—in the exterior sewer or septic line from the house to the property boundary or septic tank connection.
- Interior Plumbing & Drainage System Coverage: Protection for interior plumbing pipe repair, drainage repairs, and services like drain cleaning and toilet repair for clogs and leaks within the home’s walls and drainage system.
- Water Heater Repair: Coverage for repair services related to the home's water heating unit.
- Gas Line Repairs: Repair and replacement of the buried gas line on the customer’s property, which can be critical for heat and appliances.
- General Home Utility & Electrical Coverage: Other optional plans may cover electrical repair, home repair (general), and components of heating and cooling systems, depending on the specific plan purchased.
- Emergency Services: Dispatching contractors for emergency repairs, especially for significant events like sewer line blockages or water line breaks.
It is important for Pennsylvania customers to understand that these services are delivered as covered benefits under a purchased warranty plan, meaning the exact coverage amount, exclusions, and benefit limits are defined by the specific policy and its terms and conditions.
The primary benefits of Service Line Warranties of America revolve around convenience, financial protection, and professional access during home emergencies.
Key highlights and features include:
- Partnerships with Local Municipalities: SLWA often operates through endorsements and partnerships with local cities and utilities, providing a trusted communication channel to homeowners about their responsibility for service lines.
- 24/7/365 Emergency Hotline: Immediate access to a call center ensures a swift response to all covered emergencies, eliminating the pressure on the homeowner to find a contractor late at night or on a weekend.
- Local, Vetted Contractor Network: Repairs are performed by local, licensed, and insured plumbers and contractors who are familiar with local codes and are subject to a rigorous vetting process.
- Financial Protection: The plans are designed to protect homeowners' budgets by covering the expense of covered repairs, which can often cost thousands of dollars for excavation and line replacement. The plans typically feature no deductible or service trip fees.
- Commitment to Customer Service: SLWA and HomeServe are accredited with the Better Business Bureau, demonstrating a commitment to addressing customer concerns and maintaining ethical business practices, a significant assurance for Pennsylvania consumers.
- Comprehensive Coverage Options: They offer protection for the most expensive line breaks (exterior water and sewer), but also optional coverage for interior plumbing and drainage, providing holistic protection against common plumbing failures.
- One-Year Repair Guarantee: Covered repairs performed by their contractor network are guaranteed for one year, providing confidence in the quality of the work completed.
Homeowners in Pennsylvania interested in purchasing a service line protection plan or who need to report a covered emergency should use the 24/7 hotline.

The toll-free number is the most direct and crucial method for existing customers to access the benefits of their plan and dispatch a contractor for an urgent repair.
For homeowners across Pennsylvania, Service Line Warranties of America offers a distinct and often crucial layer of financial protection that is distinct from traditional plumbing services. Choosing a plan from this company is worthwhile for users who want to mitigate the risk of catastrophic, out-of-pocket expenses associated with buried utility lines—costs that can average thousands of dollars for excavation and repair of water or sewer lines.
The key value proposition is the ease of service during an emergency: instead of scrambling to find a contractor, get multiple quotes, and figure out financing for an urgent, messy repair, a simple call to the 24/7 line initiates the process. SLWA handles the vetting, dispatch, and payment of the local, licensed contractor for the covered repair, providing a seamless and stress-free solution for the customer. Positive customer experiences highlight the quick, painless, and efficient resolution of complex issues like mainline clogs on a Sunday, validating the peace of mind the plans are designed to provide.
However, potential users must understand that this is an insurance-like product, not a direct plumbing company. It is imperative to read the specific terms and conditions of their contract carefully to understand coverage limits, exclusions, and definitions of a "repair" to ensure the service meets expectations. For the homeowner who values budgetary predictability and a single point of contact during an unforeseen utility line emergency, SLWA’s optional protection plans represent a valuable, Pennsylvania-based resource for home financial security.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They've sent a plumber out multiple times to clear a drain after the initial plumber found a crack in the drain pipe. The plumbers each informed me that service line warranties avoids doing repairs like the plague. That they'll send the plumbers out to snake the drain a dozen times before actually repairing it. Well this is exactly what I've experienced, so now my house is flooded for the 4th time. And service line warranties has ended my contract to avoid paying for the actual repair. After their monthly charges it would've been cheaper to hire a plumber to snake the drain myself because that's all that they did.
July 21 · Bryan DoneI cannot believe how easy this process was. I had a non-emergency main line clog on a Sunday. I was able to reach a real human to discuss the issue and reach a quick & painless resolution. Both Service Line Warranties and the contracted service contacted me the next morning and stayed in constant contact until the situation was resolved. The service technician was knowledgeable & efficient. I couldn't be more pleased. Well worth the cost of the plan.
September 16 · Cathy Sawyers9/9/25 update: Third time is a charm? After being contacted by Service Line directly about the status of my case, the agent found yet another plumber to come take a look at my broken main water line. The assessment was quick, professional and thorough, approval from Service Line was obtained, the job scheduled. The actual job that Ace’s Plumbing did was perfect: the best under the sidewalk methods and parts were used and expertly installed. I am completely satisfied with this final result and am changing my star rating from 1 to 5 based on this ultimate resolution.Service line contracted with two different plumbers to come out and specifically repair the water main between the meter and the house. Neither of the contractors was willing to do this relatively easy job, for a couple different reasons (excuses.) My GC is going to have his plumber fix it as our house repair moves forward. So: after years of paying the monthly premiums, I found this insurance to be worthless.
September 16 · David HaubrichThe process for requesting a repair was easy. And the customer service agents were outstanding. I felt they went the took extra effort to get someone out to my house on a late Friday afternoon to address my repair request. And when I called back to get a status the agent took time to make sure I understood. Thank you!
June 27 · Nancy McCormickWhen I called on Thursday, they linked me to a plumber who said they would be out on Monday. I had no use of the facilities and I was really saddened that I would have to go 3 days without a shower or toilet. I called back and asked for something sooner and the lady on the phone went down a list to try to find someone. She was finally able to get a hold of someone to come out the same day. Thank you.
