Properly maintaining your downspouts is one of the most effective—and most often overlooked—strategies for preventing water damage to your home.Downspouts are connected to the gutters on your roof and are designed to carry rainwater to the ground and away from your roof, fascia, and foundation. Over time, leaves and sticks can collect in your gutters, and when it rains or snows, that debris can become lodged in your downspouts. If don’t have screens installed over your gutters, it’s a good idea to clean them monthly using a trowel and high-pressure garden hose. If you notice standing water in your gutters, you may need to adjust the slope so they’ll properly drain toward the downspouts. And if there’s standing water at the bottom, consider adding downspout extensions to carry the water farther away from your home’s foundation.Maplewood Plumbing and Sewer has been cleaning downspouts on St. Louis homes for more than 30 years.

- Pipe Replacement
The plumbing in your home is one of several different types:Copper,Galvanized, Steel,Polybutylene, Pex, Regardless of the specific type of plumbing in your home, you’ve most likely landed here because it needs to be replaced. There are two main reasons for this:Outdated pipes If you have an older home that was built prior to 1970, there’s a good chance your pipes are made from galvanized steel. An easy way to test this is to simply turn on the hot water. If your water pressure is low, you may have galvanized hot water pipes that have corroded.A sewer line leakAll the plumbing in your home begins & ends at your street. All of the plumbing in the street is owned by the water district. The pipes on your property belong to you–which means you pay for repairs/replacements. A quick check for this problem: turn off all the water inside your house and check your outside meter. - Sewer Camera
Many plumbing clogs can be resolved with a plunger and some elbow grease. Others require the use of a simple plumbing auger or “snake.” On occasion, though, homeowners experience ongoing backups, repeatedly slow drains, and frequent clogs, and the only way to see and resolve what’s happening is by inspecting the line with a sewer camera.Inspection cameras are waterproof and allow professionals to see what’s happening inside pipes that are otherwise obscured—running through your backyard or under your home’s foundation, for example. These tiny, high-resolution cameras are mounted on the tip of a flexible cable, and the cable can be fed through pipes of various lengths and diameters. Pipe cameras are designed to go around even sharp bends in pipes, so they can see the entire length of most systems. The entire video inspection is recorded, so homeowners have a record of what the plumber found and their recommendations. Call Maplewood Plumbing and Sewer.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The 87 year old sink replacement in our 1st floor 1/2 bath looks great. The original sink rusted out and cracked (picture). The original faucet was on it's last leg. Maplewood plumbing did a great job of advising me, and the new sink and faucet looks fantastic! I was so worried that the original tile would be damaged, but there is not even a scratch. They used quality parts and the added shutoff valves are welcome. Thanks!
June 12 · Bill ImmerWe had a broken toilet replaced last week. The plumber we had was friendly and very efficient. I felt like he had a level of competency that was higher than the previous company we used. I plan to use Maplewood Plumbing for additional plumbing work in the future.
May 19 · Kristen HallThese guys were amazing! Arrived within 3 hours after I called them. Josh was very professional and very good at his work. He explained everything he needs to do, in addition to clearly outlining both the best case and worst case scenarios. This helped me know exactly what I could expect and possibly getting into. No surprises. Fortunately, he was able to fix my plumbing problem for the best case scenario! I would highly recommend this company to anybody needing plumbing help.
September 01 · Erin AndersonWe had a clogged basement drain and I called Maplewood Plumbing after hours. First thing the next morning, they called back. They sent a plumber that morning at a time we agreed on. They gave me his name and arrival time. Later, he called to say he would arrive in 15 minutes. He was on time, professional and courteous. He fixed the problem. Explained everything and left. This is why Maplewood Plumbing is our first call every time. We live in an old house. They have never failed to meet their 5-star standard.
October 09 · Jim HauschultzHad two recent projects with Maplewood plumbing and very happy with both cases. First had Dave come and cap off gas lines, he removed the old and worked with my schedule and provided efficient, polite and professional service! Second had a very stubborn kitchen sink, Steve and Reggie were able to find time and get it unclogged! Very professional and friendly. Company charges fair price and offers excellent service. Would 100% recommend.
