Cascade Plumbing Introduce
For residents and property owners in Big Rapids, Michigan, having access to a reliable, local plumber is essential. Plumbing issues, whether a sudden emergency or a slow, persistent leak, demand prompt and professional attention to protect your property and ensure the smooth operation of your home or business. Located right in Big Rapids, Cascade Plumbing is a local contractor dedicated to providing a range of essential plumbing services to the Mecosta County community and surrounding areas.
Cascade Plumbing positions itself as a service provider focusing on general plumbing repair, addressing the everyday and unexpected challenges that Michigan's climate and aging infrastructure can present. Their work centers on keeping vital systems running smoothly, offering solutions for everything from minor fixture repairs to major appliance replacements. Given the vital role plumbing plays in both residential comfort and commercial operations, having a local team ready to respond is a key benefit for the Big Rapids area.
As a company offering repair services, their core business is built around the fundamental needs of a working plumbing system, including fixing leaks, clearing blockages, and maintaining equipment. They provide the necessary support to ensure that basic comforts—like having hot water or a fully functioning drain—are not compromised. In a community like Big Rapids, where local businesses and homes form the backbone of the area, having dedicated contractors who can handle a variety of repair issues is highly valued.
However, potential customers should note that public information indicates some inconsistencies in service delivery and customer communication. While the firm is a designated local plumber, a small number of direct customer reports have highlighted issues with scheduling commitments and part availability for specific repair requests. One customer detailed an experience where a scheduled winterization service was repeatedly postponed without reliable follow-up, causing considerable inconvenience, especially for cottage owners who travel to their property. Another report cited a refusal to replace a water heater anode rod, claiming the part could not be sourced, which the customer contradicted. These instances suggest that while the company aims to offer essential services, customers should be diligent in confirming appointments and the scope of work upfront.
Despite these specific concerns, the essential function of a plumber in any community remains critical. Cascade Plumbing is listed in the Big Rapids area to handle those inevitable plumbing crises. Their repair offerings cover general maintenance and more significant service requirements, keeping the local water systems operational.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My homeowners insurance company contracted this firm in response to my service request about replacing the anode rod in a water heater. Cascade called and I explained my situation. After giving all requested info about the water heater they suggested removing the anode rod and not replacing it. When I rejected that suggestion they responded that they could not buy the part so I went on line and purchased on in 5 minutes and had a friend switch it out for $25. Anyone can purchase this part online! I'm not certain what their motive was for their position but I do know that I will never use them under any circumstance.
October 11 · Douglas LaneScheduled with them to winterize my cottage, which is an hour drive one way for me. As I pulled in the driveway, they called and said they couldn't make it but would do it "in the next day or two". I called 5 days later, they said "they would do it in the next day or two". I called a week later, they said "they would do it in the next day or two". The weather is going freeze soon so I had someone else winterize it a month after Cascade said they would and I still have not heard from them 5 weeks later. I'd recommend skipping calling them. If you can't do it, tell me...don't make me drive up for nothing, leave a hidden key then have to drive up again to not only get the hidden key because no one ever shows but drive up again for another plumber. A 15 minute winterization cost me 6 hours of driving, 6 hours of my time and $40 in gas. Thanks alot.......
