Bluhm & Reber Drain Sewer & Septic Tank Cleaning is conveniently situated in Decatur, Indiana, making them centrally located to serve a wide radius of local customers. Their physical location is: 3663 N 600 W, Decatur, IN 46733, USA. While the service itself is mobile and dispatched to your location, knowing their base of operations confirms their commitment to the local community. Located slightly north-west of the main urban core of Decatur, the address places them in a position for efficient dispatch across Adams County and the neighboring Wells County. For Indiana residents needing timely service, having a local company with a clear base is a definite advantage.
Accessibility extends not just to their physical location, but to their availability for service. The company operates by appointment only throughout the week, including on weekends. This "by appointment only" schedule, which runs Monday through Sunday, suggests a commitment to working around the customer’s schedule and ensuring they can handle emergencies or planned maintenance with a dedicated approach.

When choosing a service provider for critical home and business infrastructure like sewers and septic systems, Indiana residents have many factors to weigh. Bluhm & Reber Drain Sewer & Septic Tank Cleaning is worth considering primarily for its significant history and deep specialization. Their decades of experience since 1975 mean they have encountered and solved almost every type of drain, sewer, and septic issue specific to the local area's soil, climate, and common housing types. This longevity provides an invaluable level of institutional knowledge.
Furthermore, their specialization in complete sewer, drain, and septic tank cleaning services is a major benefit. These systems require specific tools and knowledge to handle effectively, and a company that focuses solely on these areas is likely to offer more reliable and efficient solutions than a general plumbing outfit. The positive anecdote from a customer regarding a complex sewage leak under a crawl space, where a representative provided honest guidance that allowed the homeowner to resolve the issue, speaks volumes about their willingness to educate and act as a reliable resource rather than simply pushing for the most expensive fix. This kind of transparency and helpfulness is a core value many Indiana residents look for in local businesses.
While one piece of feedback noted a concern over a specific technician’s conduct and the subsequent resolution handling, the fact remains that the owner acted to rectify the billing issue immediately. This demonstrates accountability, even when customer experiences fall short of expectations. Ultimately, for Indiana homeowners and business operators in the Decatur and surrounding area, Bluhm & Reber represents an established, specialized, and community-focused choice for their most essential plumbing and septic system needs, backed by a decades-long presence in the region and a focus on critical system maintenance and repair.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I called the owner and he was skeptical about my report of a service man “son in-law”. He knocked and then walked right into my house. My dogs blocked him and I am surprised they didn’t do more than that. I told the man to go through my sink in the garage and he didn’t. Which would have corrected any drain issues. He did not look for clean-outs. He also started asking me questions about my ring cameras. Time spent away from doing the work. In addition, he asked to borrow a pipe cutter. Just not professional. The owner stated that he never received a call like this for 15 years. Made me feel like I wasn’t being honest. He did say that he would not charge me, rectifying the issue. I had to hire another local business to come the next day to finish the job. While I appreciate the resolution, I did not appreciate him treating me like I was being dishonest. Therefore, the review. He has lost my business and possibly others.
June 07 · Rhonda HabeggerWe had a small sewage leak under our house in the crawl space. Called three other services and they didn't know how to approach it. Some were saying digging!! A Rep, James Smith, came and was honest about what we could or should do. My husband and I fixed it ourselves, with a few calls and questions for James. Super helpful! Thank you!
June 29 · Rayma GonzalezThey accepted the job to come unclog a pipe and never showed up. They were also made well aware we had no toilet or running water until this was resolved and couldn’t even give a call to let us know they were no longer coming. We were out of a toilet with children in the house for 4 days before we finally called someone else to come fix the problem. Never met a plumbing service so unprofessional!
March 03 · Lexi CostelloI would love to write a positive review, but they were a no-show after I scheduled a service call the previous week. I tried calling them that day and left voice-mail messages that day and the next, but no response. From reading some of the other reviews, it appears to be a common problem.
July 15 · Debbie HillgerThey forgot about our appt twice. Third time they came and had to borrow several of my BASIC tools/ equipment. (Hose, drill, water pump). “Worked” for 30 minutes, talked to neighbors for over an hour…billed for 3.5 hrs. Told us we needed to excavate yard for major repair, i unclogged drain with a manual snake with ease. Very unprofessional, terrible service.
