Jefferson Plumbing Introduce
For Kentucky homeowners and business owners, finding a reliable and efficient local plumbing service is a necessity, not a luxury. Plumbing issues can range from minor annoyances, such as a dripping faucet, to major emergencies like a burst water heater or a sewer line backup. Addressing these problems quickly and correctly requires a professional with a comprehensive skill set.
In the Louisville, Kentucky area, one such service provider that appears in local searches is Jefferson Plumbing. It is crucial for local users to have a factual, balanced understanding of the services offered by any company, their areas of operation, and the general customer experience to make the best choice for their home or property.
This article provides an overview of the services, location, and key features associated with Jefferson Plumbing, based on available public information, to help residents in the Louisville and greater Jefferson County region of Kentucky in their search for a plumber.
Introduction / Overview
Jefferson Plumbing is a company categorized as a general Plumber, providing essential services to residential and commercial customers. Their primary focus appears to be on repair, replacement, and installation services covering the most common household and commercial plumbing systems. It is important to note that public records sometimes list a few distinct business entities with "Jefferson Plumbing" in the name, some based in Louisville and others in Shepherdsville, but the core business of providing vital plumbing solutions remains consistent. The company aims to address a wide range of needs, from simple fixes to complex system installations.
The decision to hire any local contractor should be an informed one. While service provision is a key factor, prospective customers often weigh this against the overall reputation and ease of conducting business with a company. For Jefferson Plumbing, the available public customer feedback presents a mixed picture. Some reviews suggest experiences of professionalism and promptness for scheduled work. For instance, one reviewer mentioned being "in the middle of a water heater project" and that the company had been "prompt, responsive and professional" up to that point. However, other customers have detailed significant issues, including complications with installation, delays, price discrepancies from initial quotes, and unsatisfactory customer service interactions, particularly with office staff. One account highlights a frustrating experience regarding a water heater replacement assigned through insurance, involving a delay of a week for installation, a subsequent leak, and the discovery of code violations by a third-party plumber. Another detailed a conflict over a quoted price and difficulties in scheduling, coupled with perceived rudeness from a phone representative. This contrast in reviews is a key factor for any Kentucky resident to consider when evaluating whether to use their services, especially for emergency or critical repairs.
Location and Accessibility
Jefferson Plumbing maintains a physical presence in the heart of Louisville. The company’s address places it in a central, accessible location within the Louisville Metro area, which is geographically positioned to serve a large segment of Kentucky’s largest city and the surrounding county. This central location facilitates service calls across a broad area, especially within Jefferson County, KY, which is noted as their service area in some public business profiles.
The primary location information is:

This address situates the business in the western portion of downtown Louisville, an area well-connected to major roadways. This geographic positioning is an advantage for providing services to homes and businesses throughout the city and its surrounding neighborhoods.

What is worth choosing
When choosing a plumber in the Louisville, KY region, a company like Jefferson Plumbing offers a robust list of services that covers virtually any residential or commercial plumbing requirement. For customers whose plumbing issues align with their core competencies—such as water heater work, fixing leaky pipes, or addressing clogged drains—they provide the technical capacity to complete the job. Their acceptance of credit cards also streamlines the payment process, a welcome convenience in times of urgent repair needs. Furthermore, their central location in Louisville suggests a practical reach across Jefferson County.
However, an essential part of the consumer's choice process in Kentucky is performing due diligence. Public feedback suggests that potential clients should exercise caution and be proactive in managing their service experience. Specifically, customers using Jefferson Plumbing may benefit from:
- Requesting detailed, written quotes before any work begins, especially for jobs involving home warranty or insurance claims, to avoid unexpected price increases.
- Verifying and documenting the final cost and scope of work prior to the technician starting the job.
- Being clear and firm about scheduling expectations to prevent unannounced arrivals or lengthy delays.
- Considering the reported issues with customer service communication and being prepared to handle potentially "combative" interactions with administrative staff, as noted in several public reviews.
- For complex installations, such as water heaters or sewer line work, which are subject to local codes, customers should consider verifying with Louisville Metro Construction Review or the state Division of Plumbing that all necessary permits and code compliance are met, or engage a third party for post-installation inspection for peace of mind.
While the service list is broad and addresses critical needs, the history of customer service challenges and installation issues, including reported code violations on a water heater install, indicates that a discerning approach is necessary to ensure a satisfactory experience. Kentucky residents ultimately need a reliable partner for their home infrastructure, and the decision to select Jefferson Plumbing should be made with a full awareness of both their technical offerings and their documented service track record.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a garbage company. They quoted me $35, after I had already paid $75 for my problem to be assessed. They showed up, unannounced and without scheduling anything. Then they said it’ll cost $65 to repair my sink, which is almost double what I was quoted through home warranty. 3 different times I tried to get it scheduled through home warranty, and 3 different times I received NOTHING. When I finally called to schedule it MYSELF the rudest person I have ever talked to basically told me I was wrong. They are useless, inconsiderate, rude, and irresponsible. Don’t believe me? Just go read the other reviews here. And I have the receipts to show Everything I just said.
October 10 · Ryan WigginsI would give less but I can not. The story goes; Our hot water heater went out and flooded everything in the basement. Jefferson was assigned the job by our insurance. They bought the water heater the day of (apparently) and did not come back for another week to install it. They also did not contact us during that week. The water heater was installed and then later that day the new water heater began to leak. They had to come back out to fix it because it was not properly installed. A few days later I walk into my basement and smell sulfur so we call and ask if they could send a plumber out to check everything to make sure all was good with the install and the new water heater and they nearly refused to come double check even though LGE had detected there was a leak somewhere and it smelled like it had originated from the water heater. So naturally we had a BBB accredited plumber with a solid reputation come out and they found 3 code violations on the install. We told the warranty to forget Jefferson Plumbing and we ended up just paying another plumber out of pocket to fix the fix. (Oh and the lady you call at the office is your typical "Karen," so be ready for that. Get ready for combative and fighting talk the moment she answers the phone whether you are delivering a pizza or asking them to check if their gas installation was correct.) And as evidence, this is the second time this water heater has leaked since they installed it and suppossedly fixed it. And after the owner has responded, how were we suppossed to know that? You never said anything to us for a week straight. What we saw was that you had purchased the water heater the day of and that was it.Terrible company. Luckily the real plumbers are showing up tomorrow to fix Jefferson's multiple mistakes. And to the owner: stay away from my house. We cancelled your plumbers. Also, we have one gas pipe that leads straight to the water heater.
June 01 · Bryan MileySuch a wonderful experience! We were nervous when our warranty company paired us and we looked at some reviews. But our experience was quick, seamless, and couldn’t have been easier. Rodney Alexander was the technician who installed our new system and he was great. He took the time to explain the new system and its operation. I would 100% use Jefferson Plumbing in the future!
February 18 · BillyGene TennillInitially I just left my review with no explanation. I was going to leave it at that. I had been trying to call the number provided on the WO I had to try and get the tech back out to repair the PVC pipe he had cut. He fixed the first issue which was the sump pump check valve and informed me he made an incision on the outside pipe so the water didn't have as long of distance to travel. I was like ok. I mean I don't know this stuff otherwise I wouldn't have reached out to my home warranty for a professional. The tech was very up front and nice.Well a few days go by and I notice the side of the house/yard and neighbors yard is now completely getting flooded. The incision was to cut the pipe so I pushed the pipe in place but this only worked a bit not as much sewage coming. I went to call the number to see if I could get it fixed. No one answered. OK they're busy, I try again and again using my number. I used other phones. No answer it would just ring until it got d/c no voicemail option. Until I left my review. I then get THE CALL.I'm not sure who this Tammy woman thinks she is, but she was rude. After what felt like an eternity of her raising her voice told me what I should have done was go back to my home warranty. I had my family and friends with me and they heard the conversation. She basically said I was lying about the tech cutting the pipe. Probably because the WO doesn't mention it. I then asked why no one ever answered the phone. It's because they're busy all day everyday. REGARDLESS I'm now updating my review with the cut to the pipe was made in Feb 2025. It's now April 2025 and I had to get someone else to fix it.Just to be clear I only got THE CALL, because of the Google Review 1 star rating. Not because I had been trying to contact them. This 1 star could have been avoided if the proper headcount for such a demanding position had been filled to accommodate phone calls, or perhaps use new age technology like voicemail or even an answering machine. Instead wasted my time trying to contact someone and wasted my time on the phone with someone who was just looking to start an argument.
April 13 · Ryan BriscoeHad a wonderful experience with them when a hot water heater was replaced. It was a tough job getting a 75-gallon fixture down steep basement steps and the guy did it by himself. The work was completed perfectly and at a cost that very reasonable based on other estimates.
